Happy New Year!
I am so very appreciative for all of the kindness and warmth demonstrated by the Haycox families! I have been pleased that we have had positive feedback AND constructive suggestions during our recent meetings here at school. We will continue to work together throughout the year. Thank you all for your daily work toward supporting your children to be successful in school each day! We are in our second trimester of the school year, and now it’s time to reflect and look for opportunities to do our best! I wish all Haycox students and families a wonderful and successful new year!
TK and Kinder Registration
Haycox School is accepting registration for all students who will be entering TK and Kinder in August. Transitional Kinder and Kindergarten classes can help your child develop important social skills and the fundamental skills needed to be successful students!
Students in TK and Kinder can be in school until 5:00 PM.
Qualifying TK students must be 4 years old by September 1, 2023.
Qualifying Kinder students must be 5 years old by September 1, 2023.
Please come into the Haycox office to find out additional information and to begin the registration process.
Coffee with the Principal
Please join us for our upcoming meetings! They are scheduled for Wednesdays at 8:30 AM. We will enjoy coffee and sweet bread together as we learn about school, nutrition, local resources for families, and other important and interesting matters! The meetings are conducted in Spanish and we have translation available
in Mixteco and English.
Upcoming dates are 2/22, 3/22, 4/26, and 5/24.
We hope you will join us!
Project 2 Inspire
We will soon be kicking off our Project 2 Inspire program! We will begin on 2/07 and will continue through the end of the school year. This will be a weekly evening class for parents, presented in a hybrid format, which will inform parents on many aspects of the education system, enhancing their ability to support students throughout their academic journey. Last year, we had a very successful experience, and we hope to repeat this.
This is a wonderful opportunity for developing leadership skills, to learn to be a strong support for your children throughout their educational career, and to build relationships within the school community. There will be 12 evening sessions, and you can participate virtually or in person. If you wish to participate virtually, we are able to lend you a computer, if needed. We will also be providing a resource notebook to all participants. This was a very successful and rewarding experience for all participants last year. We are limited to 30 participants of this program. If you would like to participate, please speak with Ms. Peña!
