A Time to Give
What I love most about December is the incredible generosity we see from our students and employees. Our high school student councils and their advisors spend hundreds of hours to provide Christmas gifts for needy families across D93. For the past few years, our principals and district administrators have made donating to this effort part of their Christmas celebration. On Mondays, students from Thunder Ridge and Rocky Mountain helped put together 1,700 gifts for D93 employees. On Tuesday, the Idaho State Police and Broulim's provided Christmas dinner boxes for 134 families in our District. And, so many other students, employees, and community members find ways to give to each other in less noticeable, but just as meaningful ways. It is a blessing to be part of such a caring community, both as a parent and as the Superintendent of our incredible schools.

Employee Charged with Felonies Related to Child Pornography
On Tuesday, we received grievous news from the Bonneville County Sheriff’s Office that Nathan Law, who had been working for District 93 for the past year as a part-time bus driver, would be arraigned on charges related to possession of child pornography. We do not have any reason to believe that the alleged conduct was related to Mr. Law’s employment with the school district. As an active police investigation, we do not have any further details regarding this situation; however, based on the serious implications of these charges, we did recommend to the School Board to terminate Mr. Law’s employment with the District effective immediately. On Wednesday, the Board unanimously voted to accept this recommendation.
As parents, it is important to have frank and open conversations with our children about the risks they face and how to respond to situations that threaten their safety. If you have any reason to believe that your child has been the target of any behavior that has made them feel unsafe at school, please report it by going to d93.org/gethelp or by texting the phrase @GETHELP to 1-855-528-0074 so that we can take steps to help ensure their safety at school.
Please go to d93.org/23Q for our full statement regarding this situation.
