A Time of Gratitude
Dear Families and Community,
There is so much to be grateful for right now. Thanks to our tireless PTC, the Harvest Party was a huge success, and a great time was had by all of the children. Fun events like this can't happen without our amazing volunteers, and I know we have asked a lot of you since school started. Thanks for continuing to be there for our kids. ❤️
We also can't thank our community enough for the incredible support that was provided for our annual Food & Hygiene Drive! In total, over 2800 items were collected!
Last week was a short but busy week indeed. We had a visit from Dr. Gustavo Balderas, BSD's superintendent. He took some time out of his schedule to meet with four 5th grade Leadership Club students, who asked him questions about his daily work. Dr. Balderas enjoyed his time at Terra Linda, and I felt proud to show off our little school to him!
Thank you for attending conferences. This is such an important time for families and school staff to sit down together to talk, hope, celebrate and set goals that will foster growth over the course of the year. Conferences also provide us an opportunity to form a shared responsibility to work together and actively support one another in the academic and social-emotional development of our students. We are full of appreciation for our incredible PTC for providing dinner for our staff on Tuesday evening. There were enough leftovers to continue providing sustenance well into Wednesday evening too!
I never feel like I have enough "thank yous" for all of the gratitude in my heart for this community and all the goodness it provides. School is closed for the entire week of November 20-24 this year. Wishing you all a warm and restful break filled with joyful moments and a bounty of reasons to be grateful.
My best,
Wendy
