Student Belonging Survey
Dear Parents/Guardians,
The Superintendent's Advisory Council for Equitable Education (SACEE) has been meeting this year to address issues of equity and inclusion within our school district. One of their initiatives has been to create a student survey to assess their sense of belonging. This survey is important because students who feel a sense of belonging in their school are more likely to be motivated, engaged, and successful. They are also more likely to have positive relationships with their peers and teachers, which can further enrich their social and educational experiences. By collecting this feedback, the district can take steps toward creating a more inclusive and supportive learning environment that benefits all students.
District 103 will distribute surveys to students in grades 5-8 the week of May 15. The survey will be administered during school hours and all responses will be kept confidential. The survey is anonymous; students' names and emails will not be collected. This survey is optional. If you do not want your child to participate, you may fill out the Opt-Out Belonging Survey Google form before Friday, May 12, at noon. The surveys are linked below for your review.
Thank you for your ongoing support and partnership as we continue to create a positive school environment for all of our students.
Sincerely,
Katie Reynolds, Ed.D.
