Family Literacy Night was a great success!
Thank you to all of the families who attended our Family Literacy Night. The staff worked hard to put on an amazing evening of fun and reading for our kids. We appreciate all of the staff who volunteered to come support this event!
Based on the results of surveys and sign ins that were completed by the time this newsletter was distributed:
87 families signed in
111 students were signed in (5- pre-k, 12 - K, 18 -1st, 18 - 2nd, 24 - 3rd, 13 - 4th, 21 - 5th)
34 surveys were completed
Rating of the event: 4.88/5 (had a great time = 5)

A HUGE "THANK YOU" to the former Bronco football players Ebenezer Ekuban and David Bruton. They spoke to a packed gymnasium on the power of persistence and the importance of reading. We truly hope this message positively impacted our students!

Sagebrush Volunteer of the Year - Haley Yeadon
Haley Yeadon is a top notch volunteer. In the Spring of 2023, she stepped up to help with our school mural. She jumped right in requesting donations for the mural. When we finally were ready to paint, she was there every single day. Haley made trips to the store to get more paint. She and her family spent weekends at the school supporting our project. After the mural was finished, she followed up with people that were involved to make sure that all was finished. Honestly, we could not have pulled off our new school mural without her. Haley Yeadon is a valuable part of our Sagebrush Family.

We appreciate all of the staff who volunteered to come support this event - before, during and after!
We needed to include an extra "Thank You" to Robin Balogh and Melissa Craighead, our Reading Intervention Teachers, as well as Josh Gonzalez, 3rd Grade teacher, who were all instrumental in creating, organizing and leading this event to make Family Reading Night an amazing success!
Because of these leaders, we had a book for every child who came to the event, crafts, prizes (family games), a snow globe the kids could climb into, and former Denver Broncos participating in our event. It truly was a wonderful night because of your dedication and hard work!

Sagebrush Destination Imagination Team
Destination Imagination Colorado has created a new event titled “Try DI”. This is a fast-paced introduction to the program that will teach students team work and the Instant Challenge portion of the competition. Teams of 2-7 students can be created and compete at our competition on February 26th.

Kids Heart Challenge has Kicked-Off ! Can you slime Ms. Brewer?
Kids Heart Challenge kicked off January 25 and you can make a lifesaving impact this year!
Our School is Heart Healthy!
Every student who raises $150 will get to turn Ms. Brewer into a Human Disco Ball with Glitter Slime! And, the class that raises the most money, get a Glow Dance Party in PE Class!
Join us in learning about heart health and raising funds to protect all hearts – especially other kids’! Through fun activities we’ll discover ways to take care of our hearts and brains while practicing kindness, gratitude and learning ways to de-stress. Plus, we have the chance to earn PE equipment for our school!
