Hello Ridgeline Families-- Welcome to the 2023-2024 school year! Yes, we’re back already and will be fully open to the public on August 21st. It has been great to have our students arriving back on campus already for a variety of early start activities such as marching band (I’m pictured here with Merrik Stewart & Gracie Newell our RHS Regiment Drum Majors), football, and dance. This coming Monday all other fall sports are set to start back up. We continue our rapid growth again this year with nearly 1550 students enrolled. Ridgeline is now the largest high school in CVSD. With our growth and tightening up of our staffing allocation, all classes will be nearly full to capacity. A maximum typical class size is capped at 32 students in our high schools, with exceptions in some electives and specialty courses.
Our district has set a goal to release high school student schedules next Friday, August 25. This is a goal I fully support, however, given our staffing situation I’m anticipating schedule changes may be necessary in some cases in the days leading up to the first day of school. We will strive to limit those as much as possible. More information will be provided by myself and our counseling team next Friday, to coincide with the release of schedules.
Welcome to our families new to Ridgeline! The Falcon Flyer is an important communication tool that is sent weekly with updates, highlights, and timely information to help keep you informed on what is happening in our school. Please take a few minutes to skim through it each week. We have an enormous amount of academic, extra-curricular, and daily activities to participate in. You may not hear about everything from your own kid, but you’ll find it here! I look forward to making this a fantastic year for our students and community!
