From the Principal's Desk...
Dear Parents and Guardians,
Saturday Night was a Spectacular night! Thank you to everyone who attended, donated, bid on items or purchased raffle tickets. We were able to raise over $93,000 for the school. Once we pay out all the expenses we will have our final total to share. A huge thank you to our Co-Chairs of the event, Erika Tonne and Ahna Nichols. Along with the committee, they created a fantastic night for all those in attendance. The decorations, auction items, food, and company were all top notch. Can’t wait until next year. Tomorrow will be our out of uniform day for those who purchased one for your child(ren). The teachers have a list of students who are permitted to be out of uniform. Please make sure your child(ren) is dressed appropriately for a Catholic school. No shorts will be permitted.
First Trimester report cards will be sent home this Friday. Please make sure you review the report card and sign and return the envelope. You may keep your child(ren)’s report card for your records. Access to the online report card will go live at midnight on Friday. If your child does not receive a copy of their report card, it means you have some sort of outstanding balance. Please contact Sam Johnnston at sjohnston@stjohnsdrschool.org with any questions. I will be meeting with any student (grades 4-8) that received a failing grade on their report card. If you have any questions about the report card, please reach out to the teacher after Thanksgiving Break.
This is a reminder that school will be closed Monday November 20-24th. Our students earned Monday off as an incentive for our walk-a-thon, Tuesday is a conference release day, and Wednesday-Friday is our Thanksgiving Break. I hope everyone has an enjoyable and relaxing week spent with family and friends. We look forward to seeing everyone back on Monday, November 27th for the final three and a half weeks of the calendar year.

Santa Shop
Over Thanksgiving break our “elves” will be busy setting up our school Santa Shop! The Art and Music rooms will be transformed into the North Pole. There will be gifts for everyone…Grandparents, parents, siblings, teachers, friends and even pets! Gifts range in price from $1.00-$15.00. Be sure to check the school social media for sneak peaks at the shop over break. Parent volunteers and 7-8th grade buddies will help your child pick out gifts within their budget. Parents will also wrap your child’s gifts so they can bring home surprises. Each homeroom will be assigned a specific day and time to shop. See the schedule attached below.
What to bring on shopping day:
If your child wants to shop, they should bring the envelope that was sent home in the Blue Jay Folders this week filled out with their shopping list for who they want to buy for and approximate price range for gifts. We will also have select (Starbucks, Panera, Skyline, Target) $5-$10 shopping cents gift cards that can be added to a gift or purchased separately. You may pay with cash or check (made out to St. John the Baptist School). We will put your change back in the envelope.
What your child will bring home:
Your child will bring home surprises! All gifts will be wrapped at school by our volunteers. We happily accept new or gently used gift bags at any time! All proceeds from the shop go to the PTO which supports enrichment programs and other fun activities for our students. Santa Shop is one of the biggest fundraisers for our PTO. Thank you for your support!
