ACTION ITEMS
superintendent report
On November 19, Dr. Bein presented information to the Board about an adaptive pause. At that time, the Board did not make a motion to vote on that particular recommendation. Dr. Bein felt it was imperative to bring this in front of the Board of Education again due to the following:
- Internal District 25 metrics as well as the metrics within Arlington Heights and Region 10 are still concerning.
- The Cook County Department of Public Health continues to guide us to follow the Clarification of Adaptive Pause
- Significant lack of an adequate number of substitutes
- A trend of a rise of D25 cases being reported this week
Dr. Bein was significantly concerned about the ability for District 25 to operate effectively. Moreover, Dr. Bein was and is significantly concerned about the health and safety of our students and staff.
Dr. Bein encouraged the Board to vote for an Adaptive Pause effective Monday, December 7, 2020 through Friday, January 15, 2021.
The District is continuing to plan for our transition as well as full in-person learning, and will be ready to implement these when the metrics support them.
