Dear St. Anne Parents,

The Liturgical Year in the Catholic Church begins on the first day of Advent. This year, Advent begins this coming Sunday, Nov. 28. Advent lasts for 4 weeks and ends on Christmas Eve. Each of the four weeks has a theme to focus on: Hope, Peace, Joy, and Love. An Advent wreath is something that you will see displayed in churches and schools. Each week, one of the four candles is lighted in the wreath to signify that week's theme and our moving closer to remembering and celebrating Christ's birth....Christmas.

In an effort to help families celebrate this time together, we are sending home an Advent calendar with our students. The calendar has a suggested activity that you might want to do or talk about with each other. Faith should be lived out each day. The Advent calendars are just one way that we are attempting to help build and strengthen our Faith Community here at St. Anne School.

Since this is our Thanksgiving Edition, I want to thank everyone for all you do to help your children and our school. On behalf of our faculty and staff, I would like to wish you a very Healthy and Happy Thanksgiving!

As you know, our 2021 5K Walk-A-Thon took place this past Friday. Everyone has a good time and the cool weather was probably a good thing in that no one could complain about it being too hot to walk that far! This is the final year that our current 5K chair, Pui Yee, will be chairing this event as her son, Matthew Aranas, will be graduating in June. Pui Yee, as she has done for so many years before, did an outstanding job organizing this event and gathering all the needed parents. Pui Yee made it look easy, but in reality, you and I both know that was not the case. We do not know the total amount of money donated yet, as the final date for donations is just around the corner. What we do know, however, is that the event was well prepared, well implemented, and well received by all of us! Thank you Pui Yee and your fabulous team of parents, for your commitment to our students and our school!

The students in grades two through eight are bringing home a score report showing their recent scores for reading and math in the STAR Renaissance testing. It can be kept at home for your reference.

Thank you, Mrs. Alioto and the second graders, for helping to prepare our Thanksgiving Mass today. We gathered together to say Thank You to God for all the many gifts He has given us. We also gave thanks to all of you and all in our school community who continue to support and help us each day. St. Anne School is a very special place filled with many wonderful people. For all of that....We are grateful!

Wow....Everyone answered Mrs. Alioto and the second graders' call for canned goods. As a result, we collected over 1,000 cans of food that have been donated to the St. Vincent de Paul Society for distribution to needy families throughout San Francisco! A special thank you goes out to a graduate St. Anne parent, and St. Vincent de Paul Society member, Bill Ceragioli and current parent, Allan Sam, for delivering our gifts on Monday to St. Teresa Church. Your generosity will help put a smile on so many faces of the old and young this Thanksgiving season. St. Anne families....."....simply THE BEST!"

The second and eighth graders gathered in the yard to put the cans into trucks to be taken to St. Teresa's.

The Spirit Squad visited classes with a special cheer and information to encourage donations to St. Joseph's Vlillage.

All our teams are to be congratulated for their great spirit and effort during this volleyball season. The following are the results the Championship Games:

our 4th grade Red , 5th grade D3, 6th grade D1, 7th grade D2, 8th grade D1 and 8th grade D3. All these teams won their championship games! A special thank you goes to our coaches of all our teams who gave of their time and talents to our students!!! We appreciate all of you. Thank you so much!

Register for the St. Anne Mario Kart Tournament. The grand prize is a 1 year Student Membership to the Monterey Bay Aquarium. The tournament is open to St. Anne students or siblings in grades 4-8. Spaces are limited so online Registration is required. $20 entry fee per racer. Proceeds benefit St. Anne middle-school students' 2022 trip to Washington D.C.

Hurry, booths are renting out fast and there are limited number. Rent a booth and sell your crafts, gifts, collectables, or second-hand clothes and toys. Booth fees are $25 for both days and benefit St. Anne middle-school students raising money for the 2022 class trip to Washington D.C.

You can donate your items to be sold at the Bazaar too! Proceeds will also go towards the Washington DC trip. Contact us to arrange for dropoff.
