Dear Bordeaux Families -

We are into our second week of February. Candy Gram flyers should have gone home last week for our February 14th celebration of friendship. Speaking of celebrations, Punxsutawney

Phil did not see his shadow, so we are in for an early Spring this year.

Basketball games start this week for 1st, 2nd, and 3rd graders. Due to the half day on Friday, 4th graders will have their game next week. Doors will open for families who wish to watch at 4:15.

February is Black History Month and provides us a time to celebrate the many accomplishments and contributions of African Americans throughout our history. Many may already know this, but I learned this weekend that February was chosen as Black History Month because the birthdays of Abraham Lincoln and Frederick Douglass take place this month.

Please remember that Friday, February 9th is a half day to allow teachers to make up the missed professional development from January 12th. Students will be released at 12:30.
