Principal Message.....
Hello RCE Parents....
What a GREAT week here at RCE! The school celebrated the 100th Day on Thursday and had a great time learning about 100! The 100th day of school is literally the 100th day of the school year. More importantly, it is a great way for our teachers to celebrate the various mathematical concepts that can be taught using the number 100.
On Wednesday, February 14th, our classes will be celebrating Valentine's Day, this is a chance for our students to express their appreciation for the friendships they have made with their classmates and teachers.
Please note that our Parent/Teacher Conferences are coming up the week of March 11th. We will have a night available on Wednesday, March 13th. More information will be coming soon on how to register for your child’s conference. We hope that you will take the time to connect with your child’s teacher as the home and school partnership helps ensure that your child will be successful academically. We know that when we work together all of our students benefit and we value the school/home partnership.

PTCO Fundraiser - BUTTER BRAIDS are back!!!
The PTCO's annual Butter Braid Pastries fundraiser is back! All proceeds go directly to assist with funding the activities at the school and support the classroom teachers. We earn about 35-40% profit on every item we sell. Please let your friends and family know so they can support our school community and stock up on these delicious pastries. You can order directly on-line, CLICK HERE. The fundraiser will go until Tuesday, February 27th. The highest selling class from primary and intermediate will win a class party. RCE "Meet the Teacher".....
We have such amazing teachers at Running Creek Elementary. Each week we spotlight a teacher with our "Meet the Teacher". You will find the information on our Facebook Page and in our weekly newsletter. This week's teacher is Jennifer Timm. Please click on her name or the picture to read about her.
Student Cell Phone/Watches/Technology
Students who bring cell phones and any other forms of technology to school do so at their own risk. All cell phones will be turned off and kept in backpacks during school hours. If cell phones are seen, they may be taken until the end of the day or when a parent is available to pick it up from the principal. Teachers may schedule special days where students have permission to bring technology items to class to use. Devices such as tablets, Kindles, etc. must be kept in backpacks throughout the school day unless permission is given to use it from a staff member. Student-owned devices are not permitted on school wireless networks without prior permission from administration. Students may wear smart watches at school; however, students may not use their watch during the school day for text messaging, phone calls, or any other use unrelated to school. Please reference our Student-Parent Handbook for more information.
NEW Kindergarten Student Registration is OPEN!
The registration Window for NEW students to RCE opened on Thursday, February 1, 2024. The window for RETURNING students to RCE will open on Monday, July 1, 2024 for online registration.
Please note that students must be 5 years old by October 1, 2024 to enroll for this coming school year. In order to complete your registration, you will need:
- Birth Certificate (Issued by the State)
- Immunization Records
- Proof of Residency (Utility Bill, Deed of Trust, Warranty Deed, Rental Agreement)
- Supplemental forms (online)

Keurig Coffee Machine.....
We really enjoy being able to offer coffee to our parents and visitors when they come to the main office. Many of you have seen and used the Keurig Coffee maker in the main office. Our machine is on its end and we are looking for a used or new machine to replace it. If you have one that is not being used and would like to donate it to the office, please bring it by. I can assure you the the machine will go to a great use by many people, and bring many smiling faces. Thank you!
Snack Donations NEEDED!
As we strive to continue to provide a positive and nourishing environment for our students, we are excited to announce a snack donation drive. We kindly invite you to contribute by donating snacks that will be shared among the students. If you are interested in participating please consider donating items such as individually packaged snacks, granola bars, fruit snacks, or any other non-perishable school friendly snacks. Please send and/or bring snacks to the main office. We appreciate your support!
