Park Falls Elementary Board Report
December, 2023
Stronger, Together.
December Safety Drill
The December Safety training and drill was for evacuation. During this drill the principals stood with the maintenance crew to learn how to turn off the alarms. This procedure in the south campus has several steps because the elementary and high school systems are partially connected but are two different systems. This will take a few more observations and then in spring we will reverse roles and have maintenance supervise the principals turning off the alarms. This is important cross training.

Multi-Level Systems of Support
The administrative team is working to strengthen components of our Response to Intervention and Postive Behavior and Intervention programming. Collectively, these are now referred to as "Multi-level Systems of Support."
The concept is still the same however and is based on three "tiers" of interventions. Tier 1 is what all students get in the core curriuculum. Tier 2 is for smaller groups of students (approximately 5 students) with research based instruction and progress monitoring. Tier 3 is for the smallest group size (1-3 students) and can include the same types of programming as Tier 2.
The goal of this layered approach is to prevent students from falling below grade level performance, and ultimately, prevent referrals to special education.
The tools we use include assessment data, teacher knowledge, computer based interventions, and teacher based interventions.
