The Olive Branch 4.9.21

Dear OMS families,

We know it sounds redundant but we had another wonderful week at the nest! Unfortunately, the rain at the end of the week caused us to have some indoor recess.

We are excited to share that we worked with Dr. Bein and the Park District to use Greens Park on days when our fields are closed. Since Green's Park is technically not part of the district property, we wanted to notify you that if we do use the park other families or community members may be playing at the same time as our students.

We will only be able to use the park and basketball courts if we have enough adult supervision to ensure our student's safety. We are still in need of parent volunteers on an as-needed basis. If you are available during the lunch hour and are open to us calling the day of for help, please send us an email to let us know we can add you to our lunch recess supervisor call tree! Even with the use of Greens Park, we won't be able to get all of our students outside when the fields are closed but we are trying! It really does take a village to help us get our students outside each day!

You can also email the office at omsoffice@sd25.org with the subject line "Lost and Found" and include the item descriptor and your child's name (Joe Smith item AA, B1, D4). We will then make sure you child takes the items home.

All items not collected by April 23rd will be donated.

Online registration ends on Wednesday, April 21, 2021.

There are still time slots available for the in-Person 1 Mile Run being held on April 24, 2021 at South Middle School! You can also chose do to the Virtual 1 Mile or 5K that you can complete anytime before May 2, 2021.
