Dawes Alum Receives Incredible Scholarship
Bianca Marchan, Dawes Class of 2020, was recently awarded a full-tuition 4 year scholarship to the University of Wisconsin - Madison through the Posse Program. Bianca demonstrates skills in academics as well as leadership.
Posse identifies public high school students with extraordinary academic and leadership potential who may be overlooked by traditional college selection processes. Focusing on four major cities, New York, Los Angeles, Washington D.C., and Chicago, Posse extends to these students the opportunity to pursue personal and academic excellence by placing them in supportive, diverse teams—Posses—of 10 students. Posse partner colleges and universities award Posse Scholars four-year, full-tuition leadership scholarships.
Go, Bianca! Go, Badgers!
Welcome New Staff
Welcome Mike Strzykalski
Mike Strzykalski joins the Dawes team as our new building engineer. He's already hard at work overseeing projects in the school building. Mr. Strzykalski comes to Dawes with years of experience handling a wide-range of building maintenance issues.
New Dawes Security Team
D'Atkins Clark and Chris Brown are the dynamic duo that make-up the Dawes Security Team. Mr. Clark (Mr. D to us!) moved into his role as lead security guard following Ms. Price's retirement. Mr. Brown comes to Dawes from another CPS school. We're lucky to have both Mr. D and Mr. Brown here to support our students each day.
