TIPS Journal February 1, 2023
on the school year so far
Greetings from Tokyo International Progressive School
Wish us Bon Voyage! We are very excited about our trip to Japan's winter wonderland from Tuesday, February 7. As Mr. Tomlinson has already let you know, we will be staying at Hakuba Sun Valley Hotel, 26030 Oaza-Kamishiro Hakuba-mura, Kita-Azumi-gun, Nagano 399-9211, Telephone 0261-75-3948. Mr. Tomlinson is our trip organizer and has provided lots of fun activities on and off the slopes.
Our Variety Show will be held on March 10. Mr. Wan and Mr. Mondino are co-directors of our Variety Show this year. The location is Tamagawa Seseragi Hall, 3-4-1 Todoroki, Setagaya-ku, Tokyo. It is a 1-minute walk from Todoroki Station, on the Tokyu Oimachi line. There is coin-operated parking for guests, which costs 100 yen per 10 minutes.
The Service Trip to Iriomote Island is also coming up on March 20. There is still time to donate to help families with the costs as the plane tickets were quite a bit more than usual. Click below to find out how to contribute. We thank you!
Lastly, as our response to the pandemic continues to shift, we now will leave the regular temperature taking to a student's family. We will take the temperature of a student if they let us know they are not feeling well.
As always, any questions, please ask.
All the best,
Lyn Sato
TIPS Principal

A REMINDER ABOUT SEVERE WEATHER SCHOOL CLOSING
How to find out if we have a weather-related delay/closing? Check our website by 6 a.m. if snow or ice on the roads or rails might prevent school from running normally.
STUDENT COUNCIL NEWS
Student Council welcomes back students from the long, eventful winter break with exciting news! Valentine Chocolate Grams have been set in the Common Room for all students to share their gratitude towards their peers through a heart warming letter and a set of Hershey's kiss chocolates. The more students participate, the lovelier Valentines Day would be for TIPS!
We are also planning a new event that is supposedly going to take place in April involving colorful eggs and a hopping animal.
