We Can't Say Enough About The Hard Work Of The Kids This Past Week!
Happy Mother's Day
Thank You PTA and Parents
Thank you so much to the PTA and all of the parents that contributed to a wonderful breakfast treat for the staff during teacher appreciation week. The community and collaboration we continue to build here at JRB is second to none!
Grades 4 and 3 Math Next Week
Our 3rd and 4th grade students have advanced to the second round of the MCAS playoffs (just an NBA pun, there are no real playoffs for MCAS), and will be testing next week. The fourth grade leads off on Tuesday and Wednesday, while the third grade cleans up on Thursday and Friday. The kids have been great about bringing in charged Chromebooks, so please help them keep up that awesome streak! I apologize in advance about the reminder texts messages that you will receive on the nights prior to your child's testing days, but it seems to be working so far!
Just One Pair Of Shoes Please!
Please refrain from having your child bring more than one pair of shoes into school unless it is a gym day. The cubby areas are already full with bags and coats, these extra items simply aren't needed and sometimes cause distractions.
Did some filters work, yes. Do I want to drink the water, not so much!
Music Room News
Grades K-4 have been busy learning their songs for our Memorial Day Assembly on Friday, May 27th, 2022. Each child in grades 1-4 has received a copy of their grade’s song lyrics to practice at home between music class rotations. Grades 3 & 4 can also find the song lyrics on their Music Google Classrooms.
This event is held during the school day for the entire student body and staff, and features songs sung by each grade level and readings by some of our 5th grade students as well as local Veterans. It is a solemn event held to remember those that made the ultimate sacrifice for our country. It is wonderful to be able to hold this event live and in-person after last year’s recorded version!
Mrs. Lordan is in contact with AWCM to film the assembly, so that parents can watch it later. More details to follow!

Notes From The Nurses Office
Reminder
If your child has a fever of 100 degrees F or higher, or has vomited, they must remain home for 24 hours, without the administration of any fever reducing medication. If you are unsure as to whether or not your child should come to school because they are feeling ill, please do not hesitate to contact the nursing office.
Physical Exams
Please continue to send in your student’s physical exam documentation from their medical provider. AWRSD requires that all kindergarten and third grade students have a current physical exam on file in the nursing office.
Ticks
Tick season is in full swing. Please remember to check your student on a daily basis for ticks. You will be notified by the school nurse if your child has been seen by the nurse with a tick embedded during school hours. Here is a link which will provide you with more information regarding ticks. https://www.cdc.gov/ticks/index.html
Water Bottles
Please remember to send in a water bottle with your child. The warmer weather is approaching, and the need to stay hydrated is important for one to feel well. Students have the ability to refill their reusable bottles at school.
