Welcome to the ACES Volunteer Opportunities Hub
This page is designed to keep all volunteer opportunities and information conveniently located in one spot. As a reminder, parents need a total of 20 volunteer hours for one child or 30 volunteer hours for more than one child enrolled at ACES.
All volunteer opportunities and information will be posted here. We ask families to please refer to the opportunities listed here when looking to complete their hours. Hours will not be given to families for donations that are not listed on the opportunities below. Please direct all questions to acesvolunteers@aventuracharter.org.

On-Campus Opportunities
Click this LINK to view opportunities to volunteer on campus. The opportunities are updated regularly so please check periodically. As a reminder, parents MUST COMPLETE the required Safe Schools Training prior to volunteering for any of these opportunities.
Staff Donations & Bathroom Fairy
ACES staff need items throughout the school year to make school classroom life easier. Please click this LINK to see the items currently being requested. This wish list also includes items for our Bathroom Refresher. Our staff bathrooms need items from time to time to helps teachers refresher themselves as they quickly rush back to class. All your donations are greatly appreciated!
1 hour is given for every $10 spent. As a reminder, only items on this list will be awarded with volunteer hours. We cannot accept items that are not being requested for volunteer hours.
Please note that ACES Classroom Teachers also have their own Wishlist. Please reach out to your child's classroom teacher(s) if you wish to purchase supplies for them directly. Parents will still be awarded hours based on what they purchase.

Please help grow our LiveSchools Shop with prizes for deserving students that earn enough points. You can see the list HERE and earn volunteer hours for purchases.
ACES Families - Professions
ACES is always looking for authentic ways to bring the professional world to our students, and we know our families are a wealth of knowledge. Please complete THIS FORM to inform ACES of your profession and if you are willing to participate with projects that relate to your field of expertise. Some examples would include guest speaking, providing resources, provide expert insight on projects, etc.
**1 volunteer hour per family will be awarded for completion of this form. Multiple forms submitted for the same family will only receive 1 volunteer hour per family.
Upcoming Volunteer Opportunities
Teacher Appreciation Week (TAW): March 18-22
ACES will be celebrating Teacher Appreciation Week March 18th through 22nd. Teachers play a pivotal role in the lives of our children, fostering a love for learning and imparting valuable skills that extend far beyond the classroom. Teacher Appreciation Week is an opportunity for us to express our gratitude and admiration for their dedication.
In order for the TAW Committee to make this celebration truly special we are reaching out to families with a heartfelt request for your support. Your donation will directly contribute to organizing delicious meals, providing tokens of appreciation, and creating an atmosphere that truly reflects the gratitude we feel for our educators.

ACES Book Club
Parenting is hard. It takes a village, and we are happy to be a part of yours! Join Ms. Manhart and other ACES parents as we read through highly-regarded parenting and education books. This book club is optional and will have one new book a month followed by a Happy Parent Hour at the end of each month from 4:30 - 5:30 PM. Please sign up using the Remind code @acesbooks if you are interested in joining our monthly book club.
This month's book selection is Smart but Scattered by Peg Dawson and Richard Guare. Next meeting will be January 30th.
FIU Parenting Workshop
ACES and The Children’s Trust Parent Club in collaboration with FIU's Center for Children and Families invite you to join our upcoming in-person workshop on Friday, February 2nd at 9:00 AM, to learn effective strategies to help support your child’s growth and development and reduce your parenting stress.
In this workshop, parents/caregivers are introduced to Attention-Deficit/Hyperactivity
Disorder (ADHD), what it is and what is best practice for assessment and treatment in children and adolescents.
2 Volunteer hours will be awarded per family. Pre-registration is required and can be done HERE.
CF Week Volunteer Opportunities
Our 20th Annual Cystic Fibrosis Awareness Week at ACES is coming up It is time to once more raise awareness and funds towards finding a cure for this genetic disease that primarily affects children. We are asking for your participation and support in helping this great cause, HELP OUR STUDENTS BECOME CURE FINDERS!
For Volunteer Hours:
- SIGN UP HERE to volunteer on-campus for the annual CF Bake Sale (Friday, Feb. 16) or
- DONATE BAKED GOODS - Items (ONLY doughnuts or other assorted wrapped goods such as Little Bites, Zebra Cakes, Honeybuns, etc.) can be dropped off on Thursday, Feb.15th or Friday, Feb. 16th (in the morning). These must be NUT FREE & STORE BOUGHT. Students in Kinder and 1st grade can take items to their HR teacher. 2nd-8th grade students can drop off items at the breezeway. One volunteer hour will be given for every $10 spent. Please turn in receipt along with treats and include child’s name & HR teacher.
