Greetings Patriot Families,

Our School Governance Council meeting will take place this Wednesday, November 15th at 7:15am in the Media Center. Please join us to meet our head Counselor, Ms. Floyd and learn about the process for course selection and student placement for next school year!We have posted our grades for the 13.5 week progress reporting period. Please take some time to review your child's progress by accessing Infinite Campus. We will be providing a Saturday Success opportunity for students on December 2nd where students can register to attend and make up assignments based on their teacher's approval. Please be on the lookout for this upcoming opportunity as space will be limited. Attendance Matters! As we approach the end of our semester, we want all families to evaluate their child's attendance at school. Students who are looking to exempt final exams must have five or fewer attendance transactions for the semester. All student attendance can be reviewed in Infinite Campus.

We had a busy week at the Creek! Our Orchestra students participated in Honors Orchestra at Spivey Hall where they displayed their expertise and talents. Our Chorus had the opportunity to work with Dr. Jabarie Glass, Assistant Director of Choral Activities from the University of South Carolina in the Fayette All-County Honors Chorus last week. Both our Orchestra and Choral programs were featured around the county this week at a variety of Veterans Day Celebrations! We want to acknowledge Coach Smiley, his entire coaching staff, and our Patriot Football team on a great season!

We are excited to support our students in their academic endeavors while providing them with a competitive advantage!

Please be sure students who are car riders are dropped off and picked up in the student lot. No cars are allowed in the front parking lot during arrival and dismissal times due to bus traffic.

All students who are parking a vehicle on campus must register for a student parking permit. Please click on the link to start an application and pay for student parking this year.

Student Parking passes are available all year for $60 and should be displayed in the bottom corner of the driver's side windshield.

The Sandy Creek Chorus Department has been extremely busy over the past few weeks. 3 students represented Sandy Creek at the GMEA District 6 High School Honor Chorus October 23-24 working with guest clinician, Dr. Jeffery Redding from the University of Central Florida. The department hosted the GMEA Region 3 All State Chorus auditions on Nov 3rd where over 1100 students visited our school to audition. 19 students participated in the Fayette All-County High School Honor Chorus Nov 6-7 where they worked with Dr. Jabarie Glass, Assistant Director of Choral Activities from the University of South Carolina. Finally, students performed at both in-school Veterans Day assemblies then the Advanced Treble Chorus performed at the Town of Tyrone Veterans Day Program at Tyrone Town Hall. Kudos to the SCHS Chorus Department for all of their hard work. They always represent Sandy Creek High School with class and excellence in song.

SCHS JROTC went over to Flat Rock, Kedron Elementary, Sun City Peachtree retirement community and of course Sandy Creek, to perform and support the community with their Veterans Day programs!

Thank you to our band members who participated in the SCHS Veterans Day Ceremony. An awesome clarinet ensemble and many cadets in our JROTC.

The amazing Tyrone Rotary a club brought us some fresh apples and chocolates! We really appreciate our community!

The Parent portal also provides access to the GaDOE SLDS Portal. Please set up the parent Infinite Campus account first. The same username will be shared with Schoology to set up your parent account in Schoology. Because each login reflects the person associated with the username, it is recommended that a separate account is created for each parent.

• Usernames can be comprised of letters, numbers, the underscore, and dash.
• Please refrain from creating a username that is all numbers, as that will interfere with student data here in our district.
• After completing the setup of your parent portal account, please allow 24 hours for your new account information to be sent to Schoology before attempting to log into your Schoology parent account.
