Websites that I feel make me a better teacher!
The Science of Reading!
The Science of Reading is something that was huge in my first year of teaching! I truly think that looking into the different strands of what it takes to learn how to read really helped me to recognize the parts that I needed to work on! There are plenty of websites that can be used when you are looking in the science of reading, but these are some of my favorites. I don’t know if my new building will be using this, but I think that these tools were so helpful and I will definitely be taking them into my new building with me!

Reading Websites!
I love reading websites! I feel like these are the websites that I cling to when I am wanting my kids to do reading and also for when I don’t have a book or can’t find one! Which every teacher has been there so these websites are amazing especially storyline online! The second website pebblego is more of a kids website and is great for their research, but it truly is a great and safe resource for them to use to research on and it’s great for teachers to model with! I loved pulling up the different articles and modeling how I would use them with my students.
Social Studies Websites!
This year I will be teaching more social studies because it will be one of the two main core subjects that I teach. I haven’t had a ton of experience with social studies websites because the district that I was in wrote their own curriculum so getting to research and find some that I loved was really great! I think that if you are a teacher in need of some social studies help these would be some great websites! Teaching history is great way to introduce the topics you are wanting to teach to your students and National Geographic is jammed packed full of great information over almost everything. Also not included, but if Google Earth is great app to down load while teaching social studies because you can show the students where everything happened! This was such a great tool for me this year and I hope that you check it out too!
