Knights EXCEL
Week of February 20th -24th
⬇️ This is so fun. Which President are you like? ⬇️
We need your support!!
As our theme for this school year states we are Letting our mind set the stage to ba a changemaker! This is true for all stakeholders of Southern Guilford Middle School. The last couple of weeks we have faced multiple challenges with students not creating a Culture of EXCEL-lence. It is the responsibility of each student, staff member, parent, guardian, community member and any other SGMS stakeholders to work together and ensure we are EXCEL-ling.
EXCEL-lence starts with you......
**Cellphones are causing multiple disruptions during the school day due to students texting, posting on social media, taking pictures or video's or listening to music which all disrupt the learning environment that they are here to receive. PLEASE NOTE IF YOUR CHILD HAS THEIR CELLPHONE OUT OF THE BOOKBAG FOR ANY REASON IT WILL BE CONFISCATED AND MAY REQUIRE IT TO BE PICKED UP BY A PARENT.
*PLEASE NOTE: if your child photographs or videos other students in the school building they will receive out of school suspension as this is a violation of GCS code of conduct as well as student privacy rules.
**Temperatures are up and down and students should be reminded that shorts, dresses and skirts must be at minimum finger tip length, no biker shorts, midriff tops or pajama bottoms. If a student is out of dress code we will offer a change of clothes if available otherwise a parent will need to bring a change of clothes.
**Conflicts are not uncommon for students or adults. However handling conflicts by putting hands on another person is not acceptable and will not be tolerated. Please ensure your child reaches out to adults to let them know of any concerns before they escalate and never to handle issues with fighting.
it takes all of us.....are you willing?
