Principal's Message
Dear Edison Families,
As we draw closer to our first family engagement event with our PFO, Trunk or Treat - drive thru edition, I am reminded how fortunate we are to have such a supportive community. Events like these do not come together on their own, and volunteers are the heart of our PFO organization. We could still use a few more Trunks to ensure the event is a successful one.
Thank you for supporting us and your child by signing up for your spot today! SIgn Up Form
Dressing up is part of the fun but your car's “trunk” can be simple or elaborate…it’s up to you. The most important part is really volunteering to be a part of the event. But if you need some inspiration? A quick search of “Trunk or Treat” on the Internet and you’ll find 18 million+ photos that others have posted of their own. The possibilities are endless,
As always, you are always welcome to connect with me, just call ahead and the door will open.
Oh, and yes, Think Blue -- Let’s go Dodgers!

Social Emotional Learning (SEL): Mindfulness and Stress Management
During the month of October, your child’s SEL instruction will focus on Self-Management skills learning about mindfulness practices and stress management. Stress can affect health, behavior, thoughts, and feelings. Recognizing and developing strategies for managing stress in healthy ways can lead to life-long physical and psychological well-being.
This month, students will engage in activities to help them effectively regulate their emotions, control impulses, and manage stress. These activities help build emotional awareness, reflection, and calming skills.
Social Media Communication - @edison_omsd
Edison Academy has gone social; social media that is - @edison_omsd. We use this additional outlet to share timely reminders, announcements, and even snippets or snapshots of learning and fun on our campus with you. Follow and connect with us today!
These short messages are not intended to replace our other forms of communication but rather intended to add another layer of communication about Edison. So, while social media has proven to be a great tool for institutions like us to share reminders and snapshots of what’s happening here, it is not the best tool for us to use when it comes to discussing individual students or situations. Thank you in advance for being mindful of student privacy and continuing to contact us directly; either in person, by phone, or email when you have any questions or concerns.
Reporting an Absence:
It is critical you contact our office to report an absence every time your child is absent. Our absence reporting line is operational twenty-four hours a day, so you can call 909-984-5618 anytime and leave is a message. You may also email our main office directly at edison@omsd.net.

Students Presenting Symptoms at Home
In an effort to maintain a healthy school environment and to mitigate the spread of the COVID-19 virus, we ask that all parents screen their child for COVID-19 symptoms each morning before they send them to school, and keep them at home if they are sick using our Daily Checklist for Families.
This shared responsibility is critical to our ability to keep everyone safe, healthy and attending in person each day.
Please report your child’s illness with details of all symptoms to our health office at 909-984-5618. Our Health Office will follow up on all students that are at home with COVID-19 symptoms.
