Hubbard Woods Update
September 19, 2022
Principal Update:
Dear Hubbard Woods Families,
What a beautiful weekend! I hope you had some good family time. Tomorrow is picture day. We are planning to be outside. If the predicted storms occur, we will utilize the auditorium. We will not have a rain date.
The energy at Go To School Night was wonderful. Thank you, for being an amazing community to partner with for our Winnetka children. It was a pleasure getting to see long-time families as well as to build on our relationships with new families. A sense of belonging is as important for adults as it is for our children. Please reach out to me, or our dedicated PTO, if you need support in any manner.
Today we conducted our safety (lockdown) drill with our village safety partners. Teachers had calm conversations with their classes about why we have drills. There was not an alarm or announcement. Teachers discussed how important it is to listen to our teachers when they give directions. Police and fire personnel walked the building and answered specific questions that I had about our process.
The pictures above are from a neighborhood mini-farm. How lucky we are to be within walking distance!
I hope that you have a wonderful week.
Sincerely,
Beth Carmody
Principal
