This week, May 3-May 7, is Teacher Appreciation Week and our theme is "Can't Mask Awesomeness". Please join me in recognizing the incredible work our teachers are doing every day. To all Margaret Brent Middle School teachers and staff, thank you so very much for all you do!

Vision and Hearing Screenings
For the remainder of the year, all 8th graders attending classes at Margaret Brent Middle School will participate in the State-mandated vision and hearing screenings.
All COVID-19 prevention strategies will be followed, including social distancing, mask-wearing, and hand sanitizing.
Please remind your child to wear their glasses or contacts to school as prescribed each and every day.
We do have access to vision assistance services if certain qualifications are met (see VSP link below). Contact the school nurses if interested in a certificate. This is available to all MBMS students, Virtual or Hybrid.

St. Mary's Health Department Satellite Clinic at MBMS
The SMHD has recently opened its new center behind MBMS. The center is open for individuals needing Covid testing. See details below for hours of operation and eligibility.
Opened: 8:00 AM -3:00 PM Monday - Thursday for SMCPS staff & Students ONLY
Opened: 3:00 PM -6:00 PM Monday - Thursday for any community members
Friday hours are 8-2pm (SMCPS staff and students only)
There is no charge and pre-registration is encouraged but not required. Below is the link to pre-register:

Health Center at MBMS Location:
Enter the school parking lot and following the road around the back of the building. The Health Center is located in the white/gray trailer behind the school. There are three parking spaces in front of the trailer. The instructions and phone number are listed on signs in front of the parking spaces. Visitors should remain in their vehicle and a health department staff member will come to the vehicle to assist.
