A MESSAGE FROM THE PRINCIPAL
Dear Luther Burbank Families,
It’s hard to believe we have turned the calendar to June. I am fully confident that these last weeks of school will end on a strong and positive note with even more learning and appropriate closure and transition opportunities for our students. On Thursday, we will take our 8th graders to Boston for a FULL day of exploration and sightseeing. Our trip will include a behind-the-scenes tour of Fenway, learning along the Freedom Trail, a luncheon cruise on the Spirit of Boston, a trip to Quincy Market and the North End, and, what trip to Boston would be complete without a Duck Tour, and, so yes, a Duck Tour it is! It's going to be a great day (and I am going to make sure I precede our great day with a good night's sleep and a good pair of walking shoes!)
Looking ahead, other end-of-year activities include, our 6th Grade Meet and Greet for parents/caregivers this evening, an all-school Field Day and Minute-to-Win-It event next Tuesday, a Recognition Ceremony to celebrate our 8th Graders next Thursday evening, Move-Up day for our 6th and 7th graders next Friday and a "Maths Amazing" Cultural Enrichment presentation to conclude the week. Phew! Busy, busy and ALL good!
If you have not yet done so, please take some time to complete our end-of-year LBMS School Council Parent Survey. A link to the survey can be found in an email sent to families earlier today. At the end of each school year we take time to reflect, making note of things we did well and identifying areas where we wish to make improvements. Feedback from parents, students, and staff helps us gain a broader perspective of our collective needs. Your feedback really is a very important part of this process.
With gratitude,
Laura

Spring Sports Have Concluded
The track season concluded with the District meet vs. Hale and Sawyer last week. The Burbank Lancers finished in third, for both the boys and girls teams, and had some very good individual results. Two boys will be competing in the State Track and Field Meet this coming weekend in Gardner.
The baseball team's campaign came to an end last week with an exciting and well played game against Clinton. The Lancers concluded their season with a record of 7 wins and 5 losses.
In their last game of the season Burbank softball beat Clinton softball by a score of 25-12. The lady Lancers finished the season strong with a 7-1-3 record.
