Just a reminder that the 2022-2023 Theory of Action Campus Scorecards are now available. These scorecards provide campus specific information about available autonomies and supports through the Theory of Action. The Home2Home Visits Program is an intentional, respectful partnership between families and teachers that improves the child’s well-being and enhances home-school connections. The Family & Community Engagement (FCE) Office & The Early Learning Department have committed to prioritizing the expansion of the Home2Home Visit Program across the district.

The goals of the Home2Home Visit Program are to:

• Build relationships between home and school

• Create a comprehensive picture of each participating child and identify needed support systems

• Understand parents’ hopes and dreams for their child

How will the Home2Home Visit Program work?

Teachers of record, Special Education, Specials, and Elective teachers are eligible to participate and will be compensated for conducting relationship-building visits with families at the rate of $25 per hour. Teachers should select a minimum of 6 students to visit this Fall and a maximum number of students per teacher is 25. Congratulations Accomplished and Breakthrough campuses on the work that you are doing with students to advance student achievement! The Teaching & Learning division is excited to announce an opportunity for Accomplished and Breakthrough campuses to apply for funding for professional development and curriculum materials.

Accomplished campuses may submit a proposal for consideration to receive up to $2000 and Breakthrough campuses may submit a proposal to receive up to $1000 to purchase campus specific curriculum resources for instructional lesson design and delivery and/or to cover registration fees for campus selected specialized professional development.

Campuses have until December 16, 2022 to submit their proposal using this Google Form. The awarded amount will be determined by the total number of submissions divided by budget capacity.

Accomplished campuses may receive one free security guard for one after-school event (no more than 2 hours). Breakthrough campuses may receive one security guard at 50% off for one after-school event (no more than 2 hours).

This autonomy is subject to availability from October 15-March 15th.

Dallas ISD will approve and facilitate transportation for campus-funded field trips as outlined in FMG (REGULATION). Through the Theory of Action, Accomplished and Breakthrough campuses may receive free or reduced price transportation to one field trip within the county boundaries on a district-owned bus.

Dallas ISD is committed to continually growing and advancing its leaders. With this in mind, LEAD has developed the Principal Residency Program (PRP), an intensive, one-year program designed to prepare high-performing assistant principals to become principals within the following year. This intensive experience features 1:1 coaching from an experienced Mentor Principal within a residency model, providing rigorous opportunities for participants to gain real-world experiences that will prepare them to lead successfully. Candidates are current, high-performing assistant principals ready to step into the principalship. Coaching and developmental sessions are focused on integrating the following core competencies:

• Leading with Values
• Trust
• Adaptive Leadership
• Distributed Leadership
• Feedback and Coaching to Improve Teacher Effectiveness
• Leading with Equity

Dallas ISD Mental Health Services is...At Your Service! We are excited about the school year and eager to do our part to help remove barriers for students by addressing their mental and physical health needs. Mental health services are provided by our 115 school clinicians who serve students at the elementary, middle and high school campuses and 47 clinic clinicians who provide services at our 12 Youth & Family Center locations.

Maintaining yearly compliance through training is pivotal to the success of all campuses and one component of Managed Instruction through the Division of Human Capital Management. As a reminder, each employee in Dallas ISD must complete all assigned HCM compliance courses in Cornerstone by November 14th.
