Monday, November 6th- Girls Dance Night 5:30-7:30 pm

The Gemini PTO is fixin' to host a Girls Country Line Dance on November 6, 2023 from 5:30 pm-7:30 pm. Space is limited, purchase tickets early.

Due to limited space, Girls and Boys events are split into two events. The Boys event will take place in Spring 2024.

You may begin signing up for lunch with your student on Monday, August 21st. You must sign up with the link provided below to be on campus and secure a spot for lunch with your student. Seating is limited. When reserving a lunch time make sure that you include the total number in your party (including your student). Guidelines for having lunch with your student went home this week with your student. We have designated the Center Court area with tables for you to use. Parents are not allowed in the cafeteria to eat with their child. Please meet your child in Center Court, not in the classroom.

The Ghostly Gecko 5K is tomorrow night Saturday, October 28! Participants earn 25 laps / straws, get a cool charm for their necklace, and help earn money for our school. It’s not too late to sign up! In person registration begins at 4:45pm at the Eau Gallie Civic Center and goes till the 6pm race start. Don’t forget to select Gemini Elementary as your team.

I'm Jeremy Hansen, William Hansen's dad. I started Chess Club at Gemini last year, for students from grades 2-6. An avid chess player myself, I enjoy teaching others the basic concepts of chess. There are many academic benefits to chess, including learning how to think strategically, how to weigh consequences, increased focus, and creativity. Chess also strengthens reading and math skills while promoting higher level thinking. The vision for the club is for the kids to learn chess strategies and, eventually, we will hold small tournaments for the kids and their families. Chess Club will be open to 12 students. Our first meeting is Thursday, November 2nd from 2:40 – 3:30 PM in the science lab. Future dates will be provided after the first meeting. There are 12 spots available. I'm Chelsea, William Hansen's mom. We are continuing our Friendship Club at Gemini for grades K-3 again this year. As a psychologist, I have run social skills groups in the past and what I have found since the pandemic is that all children really benefit from learning prosocial skills and having extra time to form friendships outside of school. In Friendship Club, we will do activities such as crafts, learning about emotion regulation, and activities focused on acts of kindness. Friendship Club will be open to 15 students from K-3rd grade. If there is enough interest, we will add another group with students from higher grade levels. Please reach out to me if this is of interest to you.
