PRINCIPAL's THOUGHTS
Dear Page Hilltop Families:
On Friday morning we held our annual Memorial Day program. It was a beautiful weather day for our parade & outside program and we were pleased to see so many of our families in attendance.
Our music teacher, Arielle Richter, led performances by our school chorus and our first grade students. We were pleased to have Michael Powderly and the high school band join us and add to the music of the day. Mrs. Reeves, Mrs. Williams, Mrs. Denaro & Mrs. Silva led our student color guard and military banner holders who were joined by the 25th Marine Regiment Color Guard.
USMC Sgt. Nick Nadeau was our guest speaker as he talked about the support services provided by ClearPath - New England. He was accompanied by his service dog, Koda.
Student Emcees Torri C. & Kaiden D. led the program, along with grade 5 speakers Tucker F., Avery O., Sebastian E., Harper B. & Matty R.
Thanks to all of our Panther Power student leaders who put up all the decorations for the program as well as greeting guests, passing out programs and helping to host the special brunch that was put on for our military guests & families. The brunch was sponsored by the Page Hilltop PTO and the wonderful people from Global Partners Corp. (ALLTOWN Fresh).
We hope you all enjoy your holiday weekend in any way you choose and always remember the reason we observe a Memorial Day weekend!
Thanks, as always, for sharing your children with us!
Fred Deppe, Principal
Matt Lutinski, Assistant Principal

PANTHER POWER SPECIAL LUNCHEON
Our grade 5 Panther Power student leaders recently walked over to the Nashoba Valley Assisted Living Center to have lunch with many of the senior residents. It was an amazing and memorable experience for both our students and the senior residents. There were a lot of enriching conversations going on during lunch. Smiles were seen everywhere you looked. The students presented their special seniors with flowers and kindness rocks. This was a great inter-generational activity. Our grade 4 student leaders will be going for lunch this week.
GIRLS-ON-THE-RUN (GOTR) PROGRAM SHINES!
Page Hilltop School Adjustment Counselor Evelyn Cubero brought the nationally accredited GOTR program to Page Hilltop School this year and it has been a great success from day 1. In this first year there are 17 enthusiastic students involved. Ms. Cubero is joined by staff coaches: Mrs. Hebenton, Mrs. Colello, Mrs. Elliott, Ms. Messina, Mrs. Ryan, Mrs. Mayo & Mr. Lutinski. The group meets on Monday & Wednesday afternoons to develop their running skills as well as overall good health. They are also involved in weekly activities that develop good character, team work, kindness & positive life choices. The GOTR team will be competing in a 5K race on June 10th. GOOD LUCK team!

FIELD DAY / COOKOUT
On Friday, June 16th we will be holding our annual Field Day activities. There is always an awesome day for our students and staff. The Ayer Police Department B-B-Q team will be returning to help prepare the cookout lunches for the students.
- Students in grades K - 2 will be participating in their field day activities during the morning
- Students in grades 3 - 5 will be participating in their field day activities during the afternoon. We need
LOTS of volunteers to make this a safe and successful event for all of our students. We hope that many of you will be here to volunteer your services. Check your calendars and be prepared to sign up on the volunteer form coming home. You may sign up for a 1/2 day or the entire day! Volunteer Sign Up notices went home yesterday. If you did not receive one, please contact Gail at 978-772-8600 x1401.

They will also conduct some bicycle skills riding activities. All preschool - grade 5 students are welcome to attend. HOLIDAY PARADE
There is a local community group that is planning a weekend of "Pre-July 4th" events including a parade on Saturday, June 24th at 12:30. Page Hilltop is planning to have a float in the parade and all PH families are welcome to join us. We have some of our school community groups (Panther Power student leaders, Girls Scouts, etc.) who will be participating. We also welcome any and all students, from all grades, who would like to join in.
We are formulating plans now and will share them with you in the near future.
We have a donated trailer which we will be decorating for our float. At this time we are thinking of decorating the float on Friday, June 23rd. If more time is needed, we can continue the decorating during the morning of Saturday, June 24th. The "decorating crew" is voluntary.
If students are unavailable for decorating, they may plan to join us for the parade on Saturday. We will meet at the St. Mary's parking lot between 11:30 - 12:00 on Saturday.
The parade route is approx. 1 mile. Students will be able to walk and / or ride during the parade.
Parents are welcome to help with the decorating as well as marching in the parade.
SPRING CHORUS CONCERT
Our awesome school chorus will be performing on Wednesday, May 31st at 6:30pm in front of the school entrance. All PH families are cordially invited to attend and enjoy a relaxing hour of beautiful music. This concert will be held outside so please feel free to bring your favorite lawn chair to sit and relax.
