3. PTO Meeting
The PTO will meet on Thursday, February 24th, at 6:30pm in the library to set up for the book fair, plan a few family events, and review some spending requests. Please join us!
4. Join the Valerius PTO
The PTO is a non-profit 501(c)(3) organization that helps coordinate activities for families and students, provide classroom resources and curriculum, fund field trips, and support our teachers and staff to make Valerius the best it can be! We are a group of Valerius parents/families and we want you to join us! Our current structure allows for multiple people to serve in each role (2 Co-Presidents, 2 Co-Secretaries, 2 Co-Treasurers, and several At-Large Members). We work to make the PTO commitment make sense for anyone who wants to help. If you only want to help with one thing, that's all we ask of you. If you're passionate about events, we'd love to have your help planning Bingo night. If you like supporting reading, we'd love to have you help with the book fair. Like fitness? We've got options to help with the Fun Run or Running Club. Interested in supporting teachers? You can take on teacher appreciation. If you just want to listen in on meetings to get to know other parents better, we welcome that, too! Our hope is to make Valerius better, and we welcome all participation, no matter how much time you can commit.
We have a big need for new parent involvement next year as several long-time members kids' are aging out of Valerius in the next 2 years, as well as having others who have served for a few years and are ready to pass the baton. If you have questions, please reach out to Carissa at valeriuspto@gmail.com. She would love to answer your questions!
Kids Heart Challange!
Kids Heart Challenge is beginning and we are up to the Challenge. This year the school will be participating via online. The END DATE is the week of February 28, 2022. View the Flyer below for more information.
Please send any and all questions to your Physical Education Teacher, Mr Larson (larsond1@urbandaleschools.com) or Mrs. Cullinan (cullinans@urbandaleschools.com).
Visitor Reminders
Just a few reminders as we welcome visitors back into the building.

- Visitors are not permitted during lunch for Kindergarten through 8th grades.
- Building Principals may limit the number of adult visitors in a classroom, or in an area of the building, at any given time.
All visitors must check into the main office to sign in and to be escorted to the classroom. Please call the main office if you have any questions.
