High school graduation is an exciting and important time in the lives of our Richland Two families. The district will hold graduation ceremonies for the Class of 2021 on June 8–10 at Harry Parone Stadium, located on the campus of Spring Valley High School at 120 Sparkleberry Lane.
The schedule is as follows:
June 8 at 8 a.m. — Spring Valley High School
June 8 at 7 p.m. — Ridge View High School
June 9 at 8 a.m. — Richland Northeast High School
June 9 at 7 p.m. — Blythewood High School
June 10 at 8 a.m. — Westwood High School
The district is taking steps to ensure that these celebrations of student achievement are memorable and most importantly, safe. Please review the information below carefully. For your own personal safety and the safety of our seniors, other guests and our employees, it is very important that we all follow these guidelines.
TICKETS
Seniors will receive four tickets for their selected guests. Out of consideration for the health and welfare for all guests, we ask parents to ensure that anyone who is running a fever, not feeling well and/or showing signs of illness not attend the ceremony.
Guests must have a ticket issued by the school and a mask to gain access to graduation ceremonies. Guests are asked to bring their own masks to the ceremony.
Guests are encouraged to arrive early to ensure they will have enough time to get through the security checks and be seated before the ceremony begins. Gates will open at 7 a.m. for the 8 a.m. ceremonies and 6 p.m. for the 7 p.m. ceremonies. Tickets will be color coded. Guests with one color will be assigned to one gate, while guests with the other color will enter through a different gate. Guests must enter the stadium using the gate, either Home or Visitor, listed on their tickets.
Guests who arrive prior to 7 a.m. or 6 p.m. must remain in their cars. Once the gates are open, guests must go directly to the gate and then directly to the seating area. No congregating will be allowed. To be admitted into the stadium, guests must be wearing masks and must present and turn in their tickets.
No re-entry is allowed. If a guest leaves the stadium, they will not be allowed to re-enter.
Richland Two employees will not be able to use their employee identification badges to get in the graduation ceremonies. School and district employees will only be admitted if they are working the graduations or have a guest ticket.
PARKING
All guests will park in the lots in front of the stadium off of Sparkleberry Road (see attached map). No loitering or tailgating will be allowed in the parking lots.
Parking will be on a first come first serve basis on campus. It is highly recommended and encouraged that students and guests carpool as much as possible. If graduates have to drive separately, they will be asked to enter the main parking lot and directed to park by the tennis courts.
District security will be onsite to assist with parking.
SEATING
Inside the stadium, guests and students will be required to maintain social-distancing.
Guests will sit in the sections marked with black tape on all the bleachers. Each section should accommodate 4 guests. They are spaced apart by a red "x" to promote social distancing. Guests should sit in the area designated by black tape.
Guests should prepare to move directly to their seat as instructed by the ushers upon entering. Loitering to wait for other guests after entering is prohibited. Seats cannot be held for other guests. Ushers will direct guests to their seats in the order they arrive and enter the stadium.
Once seated, guests should limit movement as much as possible before, during, and after the ceremony and to be mindful of social distancing standards. There will be no re-entry once guests leave the ceremony.
Please note that social distancing requirements will impact access to restroom facilities. As a result, guests should anticipate the potential for longer than usual lines to use the restroom facilities.
MASKS
Masks are required for admission. Guests are asked to bring their own masks to the ceremony. Seniors will be provided masks but will be allowed to remove them for the photograph with the principal if they chose to do so.
BAGS
All bags will need to adhere to the district’s clear bag procedure and will be checked at the gate. View the procedure here.
Prohibited items include: noisemakers of any kind, balloons and flowers. These items will not be allowed in the stadium.
