MESSAGE FROM COACH POMAZAK
March Madness is on the doorstep, and I don't mean the NCAA tournament. Spring sports begin on Monday, and I wish all athletes the best of luck as they start their tryouts. Anytime you put your abilities on display for others to judge can be a challenging endeavor. It is a moment of vulnerability, where our control is limited, and someone else can determine our future. As an athlete, I have been in this position numerous times. Moments such as these allow us to lean on the preparation and investment we put in the off-season. In our program, we discuss pressure and how pressure is a privilege. Only those willing to risk success or failure can experience this pressure. Pressure is earned. We believe that the stress we feel is good and means we are doing something important to us. Unfortunately, some of us will make teams, and others will not. Those who make their teams take a moment to enjoy it. It is an incredible moment of validation for your journey. Please do not hang your head for those who do not make their teams of choice. While one door closes, another will open. We must be open to new endeavors. Is it okay to feel bad? Yes! Any true competitor will be disappointed when they do not achieve a goal they have set out for. Please understand that success is not linear; it is a series of highs and lows, and we must keep moving forward.
I wish you all the best, and I am always here if you need anything.
Coach Pomazak
