PTAA ROCKET REVIEW
November 1, 2022
Note from the Principal
Greetings PTAA Families,
Happy November, the Month of being more mindful of what we are thankful for. I am very thankful for our PTAA Team, including our wonderful teachers and staff. It is a blessing to have teachers who see their profession as a calling and give to all our students their best. We are all thankful for our students and we are thankful for our families!
We are still having reporting of unsafe driving on Dublin and Peterson. We have had some families report drivers are not watching as they approach crosswalks. Students are crossing at Dublin from the Firestation parking lot and some drivers are not watching as carefully as they should for these children crossing. Please also be kind and patient when in the driveline. Driveline has been consistently completing by 3:45/3:50 and this is great leaps and bounds from beginning of school. Driveline is a part of all schools. Please air on the side of caution and use extreme care while driving on and around the school.
Have a great week.. we are, at PTAA!
Scholastic Bookfair Was a Success:
Our first BookFair was a great success. Students purchased about $9,000.00 worth of books and supplies with brought our Fundraising total for the School Bus Library Fundraiser to $2,055.43! Thank you Rayna for your hard work and for a fun opportunity for our students!
Welcome Ami Blackshear to PTAA Art:
We are very pleased to add our new, highly accomplished Art Teacher for K-7, Mrs. Ami Blackshear. Mrs. Blackshear is a professional artist as well as a certified Art Therapist. She graduated from the Americal Academy of Art in Chicago and began her career as an illustrator for several leading midwest advertising agencies. She is an accomplished children's book illustrator and created her own ceramic collectibles, "Rainbow Babies." It is a privilege to have Mrs. Blackshear join our STEAM team!
