Preparing each student to succeed in their future and be college and career ready upon graduation.
Principal's Message
12/01/2023
Greetings, Cardinal Families!
Happy December! I cannot believe how quickly this year is flying by! We are at the halfway point and your student should be finishing up their classes within these next two weeks.
We have started our district diagnostic testing with our students (Fastbridge). Some teachers are having students take this test during their one-on-one sessions, some will be assigning it within their classes. Please remind your students that this test will determine the supports they need to be successful. We will be looking at the results to determine what state standards our students need help with. In other words, please make sure they do their best and work at their ability on this assessment. Otherwise, the data isn't useful to their teachers and the school.. The results will be shared with your student, and interventions might be put in place to ensure that they have the supports they need.
Attendance
Our attendance seems to have dipped the last couple months. Please remember that students must be logged in (not idle) for a minimum of 30 minutes a day and submit one assignment. (However, they will need to do more than the minimum to finish classes and stay on track.) Weekly attendance to their one on one teacher meetings is REQUIRED and does count towards their attendance for that day. Because we are an independent study school, we do not have excused absences.
We have a schoolwide goal of 95% attendance which should be an achievable goal, since students are at home and can log in at any time during the school day. We are creating an incentive program to reward students with exceptional attendance! If you would like to donate prizes, we will be creating an Amazon wish list with additional prizes we would love to give out to our students.
Seniors!
It's that time! We are starting to prep for graduation ... Please see the flyers below with information for caps and gowns orders and grad info.
As we reflect on the achievements and efforts of this semester, we extend our appreciation to our dedicated students and their families. Our school thrives on the distinctive learning environment we've cultivated, and the unwavering support from our families has played an integral role in its success. The accomplishments of our staff and students showcase the spirit of excellence that defines our school community. As we look ahead, let's continue to rally behind our students. Thank you for entrusting us with your students, and here's to a future filled with continued growth, success, and shared accomplishments. Wishing everyone a restful and joyous break!
Sincerely,
Annabelle Lee
