With College Credit Plus, you can earn college and high school credits at the same time... and if you take courses from a public college (and several private colleges), it's free!

Mansfield City Schools has partnered with Ashland University, North Central State College (NCSC) and The Ohio State University Mansfield to offer college credit plus courses to students in the Mansfield City Schools district - some courses are offered right inside Mansfield Senior High School!

IMPORTANT NOTE!

The CCP Parent Night is offered in conjunction with our Parent Teacher Conferences (PTC) on November 21. This session is one-hour in length.

What is College Credit Plus (CCP)?

College Credit Plus allows eligible students in grades 7-12 the opportunity to earn college and high school credits at the same time by taking courses from Ohio colleges or universities. The purpose of this program is to enhance students' career readiness and postsecondary success while providing a wide variety of options to college-ready students, at no or limited costs to students and families.

Why should we consider CCP classes?

With CCP, students are able to:

Earn college credit free while you are still in high school at any college or university in the state of Ohio.
Take courses not currently offered at Mansfield Senior High School including special interest courses and/or courses toward a chosen degree field.
Experience college life while you are still living at home.
Improve their chances of acceptance at some colleges and universities.

CCP Parent Night Registration

Click here to register for the parent night. Registrants will receive updated information throughout the school year as it becomes available.

What should I expect during the Parent Night?

Following a brief overview of CCP, representatives from our local college partners will be available to address concerns and specific questions of students and parents.

What will happen next?

Colleges determine your eligibility for specific CCP courses based on college readiness in one or more subject areas. One way to determine readiness is to complete the Accuplacer.

The ACCUPLACER will be offered on-site at Mansfield Senior High School on February 4 at 8:30a. Students can sign up here.

PLEASE NOTE - Scores from on-site testing can only be used for on-site CCP courses and courses offered off-site at North Central State College and Ashland. If you are interested in taking CCP classes at The Ohio State University, please follow the processes identified here.

Since North Central State College sponsors this on-site test, you must apply to NCSC for CCP. The application and information on the program can be found at ncstatecollege.edu/ccp/ The application guarantees the use of a FREE test voucher.

How can I prepare?

Prepare for ACCUPLACER and preview sample tests on the Accuplacer Website (https://accuplacer.collegeboard.org/students). CCP Students will be offered the following test sections with NCSC: Next Generation Reading, WritePlacer, and Advanced Algebra.
