In the morning announcements on Thursday, I shared my love for the song "Saying Goodbye" in the movie "The Muppets Take Manhatten." The lyrics of this song perfectly express how leaving Highcroft feels for me. Below, I share the song's lyrics and for the students, the clip from the movie. Please welcome the following new staff members - Katie Edwards - 5th Grade, Nikki Goldfeder - Counseling, Kara Jethi - 2nd Grade, Charis Norell - Art, Sarah Rakers - PE, Katie Rembold - Kindergarten, Linda Walker - Principal Secretary, Debbie Reid - Assistant Principal, Tracy Nomensen - Principal - as the newest members of our Highcroft family.

Ms. Katie Edwards, who taught 5th-grade at Sorrento Springs, will join Ms. Mudd and Mr. Noble in 5th-grade. Ms. Kara Jethi, who taught 4th-grade at Sorrento Springs, will join Mrs. Adams, Mrs. Cornell, and Ms. Tilden in 2nd-grade.

Mrs. Nikki Goldfeder will serve as one of our counselors. She is a veteran Parkway counselor and comes to us from Parkway Northeast Middle. Ms. Linda Walker joins the staff in the role of Principal's Secretary. She previously served at Hanna Woods Elementary as a staff secretary.

Mrs. Charis (care-ris) Norell will be our art teacher being next year. She joins Highcroft coming from Northeast Middle, where she student taught in art and was a long-term English Language Arts substitute. Mrs. Norell has worked with multiple organizations across the city, such as Laumeier Sculpture Park, Intersect Arts Center, and the Contemporary Art Museum to provide workshops and art programming. She holds a Bachelor of Arts in Studio Art from Oral Roberts University, a Master of Fine Arts in Visual Art from Washington University in Saint Louis, and her teaching certificate from the University of Missouri-St. Louis.

Mrs. Sarah Rakers will teach P.E. next school year! She is a Parkway grad who comes to Highcroft from Carman Trails. She has 20 years of teaching experience.

Ms. Katie Rembold is the newest kindergarten teacher. You may know Ms. Rembold from her role as our full-time T.A. this past school year. She has a Bachelor of Science in Education from the University of Arkansas, and she is a Highcroft and Central High grad.

Dr. Tracy Nomenson is the incoming principal of Highcroft Ridge Elementary. Dr. Nomenson served as the assistant principal at Northeast Middle. Dr. Debbie Reid joins her as the assistant principal. Dr. Reid served at Hanna Woods as the assistant principal.

As we welcome new friends, we say goodbye to others. Mrs. Banks accepted a position with the University City School District. Ms. Epstein is moving to Parkway Northeast Middle, where she will teach math. Mrs. Maxvill, Ms. Mayer, and Mrs. O'Shea are retiring. Mrs. Bearman is moving to Bellerive, where she will be the MOSAICS teacher. Dr. Lucas and Mrs. Schewe are moving to Hanna Woods Elementary as the new administrative team.
