Happy Friday!
Hello HHES Families,
We had a wonderful week meeting with all of you and seeing you around campus. Thank you for taking the time to conference with your child's teacher. Our communication and collaboration truly makes a difference in the success of our students.
We also appreciate all of your support by shopping at the book fair. Our PWT put on an awesome event and the proceeds go directly to our schools. Thank you!
Spring break is next week! School will resume Monday, April 10th.
Enjoy your spring break!

Register for Clubs!
Each club has a max enrollment and will be filled based on registration dates and times. We will also be running a second round of our cross stitching club because we had so many students register for the first round. I will be contacting all families about their status of registration after spring break. Please use the links below for more information about each specific club.
VEX Robotics (4th & 5th grade ONLY - 12 spots)
Lego Club (Kinder - 2nd grade ONLY - 15 spots)
Nature Walk/Birding Club (K-5 - 20 spots)
*It's not too late to host a club if you are interested. Please contact bess.colpron@hocksd.org if this is something you would like to do. We love collaborating with all of you and sharing your talents and skills with our students.
Getting Ready for the SBA
Students in grades 3-5 take the SBA assessment in the spring to see how they are performing on grade level standards. We use this data to guide our instruction in the classroom.
Please see the schedule below to see what our SBA testing schedule is going to look like.
It's not too late to be a lunch buddy!
A HUGE thank you to those of you who signed up! We will be in contact with you after spring break to begin our Lunch Buddy program.
We would like to begin a Lunch Buddy program at HHES. You might be asking what is a Lunch Buddy? A Lunch Buddy is someone to eat with, someone to talk to, someone to listen to, someone to laugh with and someone a child can depend on to be there for them. Most neighboring school districts have this program at their schools and this would be a wonderful way for our students to connect with our Hockinson community.
A Lunch Buddy can be anyone who is willing to donate one hour of their time once a week to connect with a student during their lunch and recess time. We can be flexible to best meet the needs of both the student and adult. Please let us know if you are interested by completing the interest form below.
You can also email Bess Colpron at bess.colpron@hocksd.org or call our office to let us know you are interested.
