Do You Know How Well Your Student Is Learning? Math Reports
Each week we will be sending home Individual Student Reports for you to review with your student. This week your student will be bringing you their Math report. Individual Student Reports are published records of your student's proficiency measures, assigned learning tasks (whether or not they are turned in), and indications about assessments and assignments.
You can expect to receive one individual student report each week from your student's teachers. Next week: Language Arts.

Our School's PBIS Framework for Student Safety and Success: Week 6
We want to communicate key data regarding our school's academic behaviors and focus on learning. Estacada Middle School follows the PBIS model. PBIS is a positive behavior approach to discipline and school rules and expectations. At EMS students are rewarded, with points, for modeling and demonstrating desired behavior. Students are then allowed to purchase items, rewards and are eligible for incentives based on their points from the school PBIS store. Below is a current breakdown of points that have been earned and by grade level.
Data this Week:
--We averaged 91% of students attending a day this week.
--Of students in attendance 85.7% of students were on time for 100% of their class per day
--97.5% of students were referral free, 95.4 % of students are referral free for the year
This past week was particularly challenging for our male students at EMS. We have observed an increase in physical aggression including roughhousing/play-turned-fighting, choking and choke-holds, and hugging-turned-falling. Please speak with your student about your family's values regarding physical contact, personal space, and addressing conflict with peers. Below is a link which will take you to our school's handbook. The handbook provides you with language about appropriate, prosocial behaviors and our threshold for student physical contact before restorative or punitive consequences.
If your student is experiencing any unwanted behaviors from peers, encourage your student to come to the office and make a report to our Vice-Principal. These reports allow our office team to problem-solve with students about unwanted behavior and limit conflicts at EMS.
