Vikan Knights, ARMOR Up!
From Principal Velez
Dear Community,
Tomorrow is Veteran’s Day! We take pride in recognizing the outstanding service and commitment of two exceptional individuals within the Vikan community: Dr. Clapp and Dr. Landry.
Dr. Clapp, with a distinguished record in the U.S. Coast Guard, and Dr. Landry, who served honorably in the Florida Army National Guard, exemplify the spirit of dedication and sacrifice that Veterans Day aims to honor.
Veterans Day, observed annually on November 11th, is a day set aside to express gratitude to all U.S. military veterans for their selfless service to our nation. Originally known as Armistice Day, it commemorates the end of World War I, where hostilities ceased on the 11th hour of the 11th day of the 11th month in 1918.
The name was changed to Veterans Day in 1954 to honor all veterans, acknowledging the contributions of servicemen and women from all eras and conflicts. It serves as a reminder of the valor, dedication, and sacrifice demonstrated by those who have worn the uniform in defense of our freedoms.
This Veterans Day, we extend our heartfelt gratitude to Dr. Clapp and Dr. Landry for their service. Their commitment to our country and their invaluable contributions, both in the military and within our Vikan family, embody the principles of honor, duty, and service.
Join us in expressing our deepest appreciation to Dr. Clapp, Dr. Landry, and ALL VETERANS for their unwavering dedication. Your sacrifices have shaped the legacy of our nation, and we thank you for your service.
Please take a moment on Veterans Day to reflect on the significance of this occasion and consider ways in which we can collectively support and honor our veterans.
Stay strong Vikan...and ARMOR up!

Morning Arrival and Pick up
Please help us out by making sure that your child is at school no later than 8:15 AM. We are having a large number of students arriving after 8:30 AM. If you drop off your child at 8:30, they are already 5-10 minutes late to class. It is imperative that you support your student in making sure that they get to school on time...on time is 8:15 AM.
If you are picking up your child at the end of the school day, please do so before 4:15 p.m. to give us plenty of time to get them from their classes. We are not able to call students after 4:15 because the bell would ring before we are able to get to them. Students might be in PE, working on a science project, or finishing up an assignment. Getting ready to leave takes time.
Thank you in advance for your support in making sure you child arrives at school on time.
