I will use this monthly newsletter to share opportunities for you and your family both within our school district and within our Loudoun County community.
UPDATE PARENTVUE before school begins
It is essential that every LCPS family go into ParentVue and update student information. You can find more information here: https://www.lcps.org/FirstDay
FREE/REDUCED MEAL applications must be completed EVERY new school year
If your child(ren) received free or reduced school meals last year, or if you feel you may qualify this year, you MUST RE-APPLY now. You can find the link to the application form here: https://linqconnect.com/ Please email me if you need assistance. (susan.ruiz@lcps.org)
MCKINNEY-VENTO PROGRAM for students without stable housing
The McKinney-Vento program supports students experiencing homelessness by providing educational stability. If your student lacks a fixed, adequate, or regular nighttime residence, they may qualify for McKinney-Vento services. This includes families who are sharing living space with others. This program requires families to RE-APPLY each school year. To apply for this program, complete the online application for the 2023/24 school year.
MOBILE HEALTH CLINIC OFFERS FREE STUDENT PHYSICALS
The LCPS Mobile Health Clinic can help ensure your child has the healthcare support they need to enroll in school! The Mobile Health Clinic provides LCPS students access to school physicals and wellness checks required for school enrollment.

FREE backpacks, clothing, furniture, school supplies, breakfast & haircuts!! Children MUST BE IN ATTENDANCE to receive a backpack. Saturday, August 19 from 8:00 - 11:00 am.

NAVIGATING PARENTVUE
Our Family And Community Engagement Office (FACE), part of our Division of English Learners department, is offering an evening session on Tuesday, August 29th called Navigating ParentVue.
Join in virtually as the Department of Digital Innovation guides families on how to access:

FOOD RESOURCES in Loudoun County
Loudoun Hunger

LHR is a food pantry that provides emergency food and grocery supplies. During your visit, we supply enough food to prepare at least three meals a day for three days for any size family. If necessary, you may receive this service up to once per week.
Loudoun Feeds
There are people and organizations in Loudoun County that can help you find something to eat today, and food for your cupboard tomorrow. And the food is free to anyone who needs it.
Bridge Feeds
Bridge Feeds provides FREE food boxes for pick up every Monday from 6:00 - 7:00 pm.
