Leadership Message
Dear St. Luke Families,
Thank-you to all of you who were able to join us on Thursday evening for the Back to School BBQ/Meet the Teacher night. I was so happy to see many of our families enjoying the BBQ and sharing some great conversation. Our teachers were excited to have you in their classrooms and for all to see what a wonderful place St. Luke is. A special thank-you to Trustee Ted Pazek for joining us as well as Micheal Hayden, Director of Transportation, for coming out and enjoying the BBQ with us. I’m sure a few of you missed the visit from Father Jim but he was able to make his way out to St. Luke to say Hello at the end of the evening and we thank him as well for taking the time out of his busy schedule to see us. Thank-you to our School Council/Parent Association for putting together and sponsoring the wonderful BBQ. It was greatly appreciated.
We look forward to our next community event this Tuesday, September 19th. We will be running a path around our community in support of Terry Fox beginning at the school at 1:30pm. Come join us on the run or if you are able to volunteer at a station please contact the school. We will also be collecting Toonies for Terry next week to support cancer research. If you wish to make a donation please click on this link. Terry Fox Donation link

HOT LUNCH DEADLINE: SUNDAY SEPTEMBER 17!
Hot lunch is available to purchase until the Sunday before delivery. If you haven't already signed up, please see below for the link to get your account started
What is Hot Lunch?
The hot lunch program is coordinated by your St. Luke Parent Council and parent volunteers as a fun option for lunch but also serves as a fundraiser for our St. Luke students. It is an optional program for parents who wish to order in a "hot" meal every Thursday. You pre-order lunches prior to the start of each session and then each Thursday your child's lunch will be delivered to their classroom. There will be 4 sessions offered throughout the school year, with the first session running from September 14th to October 26th.
How do I order Hot Lunch?
ALL parents will need to create a new login as it will not carry over from last year. You are welcome to use the same login/password as last year.
To create a hot lunch account:
- Go to stluke.hotlunches.net
- Click on "Click Here to Register"
- Enter Access Code stluke
- Complete the rest of the registration form. (Including your email address will ensure you receive reminder emails about hot lunch order deadlines, and your child's hot lunch order for the upcoming week)
- Click the "Register Now" button at the bottom
- Follow the instructions to add each child in your family who attends St. Luke. Once your child(ren) are registered, click on "Orders"
- Proceed to order hot lunch for your child(ren)
You must pay with a credit card via Bambora.
The hot lunch online order system requires a small amount of setup time at the beginning as you must register each child you have attending our school prior to ordering hot lunch EACH YEAR. Once the initial setup process is complete, your hot lunch orders for the remainder of the year should be quick and simple.
What if my child is away or sick on a hot lunch day?
If you know your child will miss one of the pre-ordered lunches, please contact Shelby at hotlunchstluke@gmail.com. If there is enough notice, we may be able to cancel and refund your order.
If your child is sick or there is not enough notice to cancel, you can let the team know via hotlunchstluke@gmail.com or via FB messenger if you'd like to have the hot lunch sent home with a sibling, or given to another student at school.
If you have any questions or require support setting up your account or ordering, please do not hesitate to contact Shelby Mistecki at hotlunchstluke@gmail.com.
Welcome back St Luke families!
The students have started to check out books from the library this week, and are very excited! We are very fortunate to have such an extensive library full of wonderful books, and hopefully we can grow it even more this school year.
Please feel free to email me with any questions or concerns tracy.scoggins@eics.ab.ca
It's going to be a great year!!
