At McKinley, we are building a strong school community. "In a strong culture, there are many, overlapping, and cohesive interactions among all members of the organization."

Parents, you are a member of the McKinley community. We are inviting you to get involved and be a part of the many wonderful things we are planning to enhance and support your child's education. It's not as hard as you may think. Just the other day, a parent brought bagels and cream cheese for the staff as way to say thank you. Simple gestures like that, help build a positive community. Other ways you may get invovled:

• Always assume positive intent
• Attend back-to-school nights or other orientation events
• Demonstrate a positive view of education at home
• Encourage reading
• Attend parent organization meetings
• Volunteer in the school

This week students have the opportunity to make friendship bracelets, learn calming techniques, color tessellation, and make new friends during Wellness Wednesday and our Fun Friday activities.

Please check the calendar for the date of picture day for your child. We are asking all students to dress nicely for their photo. Additionally, parents will have the opportunity to purchase picture packets.

We are excited to share with you that the PUSD has renewed the Metro Tap Card Program for the 2023-2024 school year!
Mrs. Aguilar will provide you with a reactivation code for the Tap Card that your child has previously been provided in the past years.
