ESA Spelling Bee Representatives!
100th Day of School
-we cannot accept anymore applications for the after school program at this time. The program is full and we are pulling students from the waitlist first. Thank you for your interest!
PARENT MEETINGS
-we are unable to hold parent meetings until after 9:30 am. Everyone on our team is involved in student arrival and our number one priority is student safety. Please call the front office to schedule a meeting so we can ensure to address any questions or concerns.
TRANSPORTATION
-a reminder that bus riding is a privilege. If students are not following bus rules, they will be suspended from the bus.

Ice skating at Delco River Rink at 777 Harrah’s Boulevard. You must complete the waiver at https://waiver.smartwaiver.com/w/63503b08a51b3/web/ and all children must be attended by a guardian aged 18+ at all times.

We are still seeking additional parent involvement for the Parent Caregiver Association! Our next meeting will take place Wednesday, February 15th. Future meetings are 3/15, 4/19, and 5/17.

Staff Spotlight: Mr. Michael Wooters
Here is how Mr. Wooter's colleagues and students describe him:
- Mr. Wooters loves what he does and is great with the students. He takes the time to get to know each and every student he teaches.
-He is straight forward.
-He has stunning attendance! (hasn't missed a day this year!)
-He has a problem solving mentality
-Mike shows up every single day for the kids!!! He is dependable and a team player! He is outside every day at dismissal making sure everyone gets home safely!!
-His dry sense of humor
-Mr. Wooters has the kids play pranks on me when I come to pick them up!
-He shows up every day for the kids and keeps a routine.
-He runs the pick up line like the Chick-fil-A drive through - smooth and efficient
-Mr. Wooters works hard to make the students physical education/health experience knowledgeable while still being fun. He makes accommodations for students with a variety of abilities. He is organized and efficient. Mr. Wooters fills in necessary forms to provide input that is crucial to creating plans for students. He is dedicated to the students' success!
-There's a lot of good things to say about Mike Wooters! He genuinely cares about the well being of each kid in the building, and he puts the time an energy into supporting them.His instruction is top notch, and he has fun with the kids too. All of the kids respect him, because they know he means business, and he cares, and he's fair. We are lucky to have such a truly distinguished instructor at our school.
-Mike Wooters is the health teacher we all needed!
-Mr. Wooters is a class act. He shows up in every way imaginable. He is solution oriented. He always puts kids first. He is an excellent instructor. And if you are lucky enough to really get to know him, he is one of the funniest, kindest people you will ever meet.
-Mr. Wooters is reliable, organized, and goes above and beyond for the students to hold special events. He is always there to support the students, especially being present at big moments.

Lunch and Door Dash
We are seeing an increase in Door Dash deliveries. Please do not Door Dash your child food. Many times the food is left outside causing an unsafe situation. Students are welcomed to have a school lunch or pack their lunch, but Door Dash is not an option.
Dress Code
Expectation: Children are expected to wear the WPCS or Chester Upland School District uniform to school each day. Families are asked to contact the school’s social worker, if they have any questions or concerns about obtaining the uniform.
WPCS Uniform (for 2022-23 only)
Grey Pleated Twill Pants or Grey Pleated Skirt
Maroon Polo Shirt or White Button-down Shirt
Maroon Cardigan or Maroon Sweater Vest with WPCS Emblem
Heather Grey Crew Socks, White Knee-High Socks/White or Maroon Tights
Black or Brown Belt
Black or Brown Shoes (boots may be worn to school but not IN school)

Fanny packs and purses( purses can be no larger then 8 inches wide and 5 inches in length)
Cell Phone Policy

Cell Phone and Electronic Devices
The use of cell phones and electronic devices are not permitted at ESA. Upon entering the school building students must turn off all electronic devices and keep them stored in their backpack or lockers (grades 5-8) If the electronic device is seen or heard by an ESA Staff member, the device will be confiscated. The first time the device is confiscated it will be returned to the student at the end of the day. For each infraction thereafter, confiscated phones will be turned in to the Dean and must be picked up by an adult. Confiscated phones will not be given back to the child. ESA will not assume responsibility for the loss or theft of any electronic device. Smart Watches are prohibited from being worn in the building. ESA reserves the right to reasonably search and/or confiscate any and all electronic devices to the extent allowed by applicable state and/or federal laws and regulations.
