A Message From Dr. Soldevila
Knights,
I hope that everyone is enjoying a restful summer and eagerly anticipating the exciting new school year that lies ahead. As we close out summer and prepare to launch into the 2023-2024 academic year, I want to extend a warm welcome to all our returning and new students and their families.
Here at Harker Heights High School, we are proud to "Rep the Shield," embodying our core values of pride, courage, and integrity in everything we do. These are more than just words - they represent our shared commitment to each other, our school, and our community. The diversity and richness of our student body are our greatest strengths, as reflected in our enrollment of 2,300 Knights, each bringing unique talents, perspectives, and experiences to our school. Your contributions will continue to shape our school into a vibrant learning environment where everyone can thrive.
As we embark on this new academic journey together, I encourage each one of you to embrace these values fully and to make the most of the opportunities that this year will present. Participate in our acclaimed athletic and fine arts programs, engage in classroom discussions, volunteer in the community, and take part in our various clubs and activities.
We are grateful for your continued support and are eager to welcome you back to campus. Together, let's make the 2023-2024 school year a memorable one, filled with pride, driven by courage, and marked by integrity.
Let the Knight Nation shine!
Sincerely,
Dr. Jorge Soldevila

A Message from the Clinic
Howdy! Clinic personnel are excited to see the students return from the summer break. There are a few things to discuss before students return in August.
Immunizations
There will be NO grace period to comply with required immunizations this year. Students must receive all immunizations required by the state of Texas for high school students. Proof of those immunizations must be received by the clinic staff before the first day of school (Aug 14th). Returning students and those new to Texas must be compliant by that date or they will not be authorized to attend school. Days missed due to noncompliance will count against students' attendance. For students with exemption affidavits (visit the Texas DSHS site for more info), the completed and notarized original must be received by the clinic staff before the first day of school. Obtaining an exemption affidavit may take a couple of weeks. Only Texas transfer students and military dependents will be allowed a provisional period, 30 days, to bring in immunization records not on file in the clinic.
Medication
The school clinic has NO medications to give students. High school students are allowed to call their guardian for medication(s). Students can carry/self-medicate if guardians provide written permission. Self-administration passes are located in the school clinic. The completed pass, signed by the guardian, must be given to the clinic staff to allow students to carry medications while on campus. A copy of the pass will remain with the medication(s). The medication(s) must always be in the original container and can be used only by that student.
If you have questions/concerns, please call the clinic at 254-336-0823.
Readiness Days Information
Freshman Orientation will begin promptly at 9:00 am and 1:30 pm. There will be presentations and performances along with a tour of the school. Counselors will be available to answer questions. Clubs and organizations available will also be present.
