Theory of Action Newsletter
October 2021
Welcome, Dallas ISD Principals!
We believe in the power of the Theory of Action to provide clarity and coherence across our school system by providing school leaders with what they need. In order to maximize its impact, we're expanding our outreach and communication through our new monthly newsletter. Within, you can expect to find the most relevant and pressing information about Theory of Action, including:
- Updates to our standards of service
- Reminders of key components of managed instruction
- News regarding accountability and our Local Accountability System
- Testimonials and perspectives from peers
Each month throughout the school year, we will coordinate with district departments and prioritize communicating to you the Supports and Autonomies that are on the horizon. Please read on to see what is available to you this month!
Home2Home Visit Program
The goal for the Home2Home Visit Program is for teachers and families to partner and collaborate to achieve academic success through relationship building.
Through virtual or in-person home visits, teachers build rapport with families and learn more about their aspirations and individual needs. They will also compensated $10 per visit. Programming is expanding to secondary campuses this year, with a focus on High Priority Campuses. Follow this link to read more and to apply for training.
School Retool Fellowship
Applications are currently being accepted until November 12th at 5 pm. Assistant principals from High Priority Campuses will be prioritized during the selection process. Follow this link to read more and apply.
Event Security
Did You Know...
Accomplished campuses may receive one free security guard for one after-school event (no more than 2 hours). Breakthrough campuses may receive one security guard at 50% off for one after-school event (no more than 2 hours).
This autonomy is subject to availability from October 15-March 15th. For more information, click here.
New Technology Pilot
The leaps of technological development can make it hard to stay up to date. As technology progresses we hope to support your campus with the hardware or software needed to increase student productivity, engagement, and buy-in for your campus.
The IT department will be accepting applications for up to 10 Accomplished campuses or until the $50,000 budget has been exhausted. The deadline for application is November 15th. For more information and a link to the application, click here.
