Overview
The Preschool Outreach Program (POP) is housed at Pleasant Valley Elementary School. POP is a language based program that incorporates the Connecticut Early Learning and Development Standards (CT ELDS) and utilizes an assessment framework. Staff members include certified teachers, paraprofessionals, occupational and physical therapists, speech and language pathologists, behavior analysts, school psychologists and a nurse.
Who is eligible to apply?
Applicants must be:
- South Windsor residents
- Ages three, four or five
- Toilet trained
- Able to model appropriate skills in the areas of play, socialization, adaptive behaviors, and expressive/receptive communication
Schedule and Activities
POP runs Monday-Thursday (following the SWPS calendar for holidays)
AM session : 9:15am-11:55am PM session : 1:10pm-3:50pm
Each session consists of:
- Table top toy time
- Story and/or sharing time
- Circle time
- Group activities
- Snack
- Centers (structured play and pre-academics)
Enrollment is ongoing as space permits. Early application is encouraged.
Current fee is $2,000, paid in three installments.
