Cinnaminson Middle School is proud to announce its Students of the Month for December. The character trait for the month of December was DEDICATION. Congratulations to:

For the month of January, we focus on: EMPATHY

Empathy: The ability to share and understand someone else’s feelings. It means putting yourself in someone else’s shoes and trying to see from their perspective. We all have the ability to become more empathetic, compassionate individuals. Never underestimate the power of helping someone feel seen or understood.

In celebration of our district's Governor’s Educators of the Year Recipients, Cinnaminson Township schools would like to promote a district-wide “Pirate Pride Day” on Thursday, January 11th, to help celebrate our CMS recipient, Mrs. Maria Aguado! Staff and students are encouraged to dress in their Pirate Pride gear or Cinnaminson colors on Thursday.

With a total of six teams and over 100 student athletes participating, CMS winter sports are off to a great start! Many of our students are learning the various lessons and skills that are necessary to not only perform at a high level in the classroom but to compete at a high level on the court or the mat. It is this balance between the classroom and the field of competition that will pay dividends in their interscholastic sports experience and life beyond the classroom. February 1st is the last day of the winter season for CMS, so please come on out and support our teams!

Spring sports tryouts will start on March 18th. Coaches will hold informational meetings in February or early March. Please contact Mr. Meile (meilej@cinnaminson.com) with any questions or concerns.

Spring Sports Physicals will take place after school on Wednesday, February 28th, at 2:35PM at CMS. Please complete the History Form in the sports packet and turn it in to the school nurse before February 28th. Click here for sports packet

We will continue using the School Messenger system to make calls to families regarding school closings, delayed openings, or early dismissals. You may also check the district website or the district’s social media pages (Facebook or Instagram) to check for the latest news.

Course Selection for next year is right around the corner. While more details will follow in a formal letter later in the month from CHS Principal, Mr. Gorman, please see the flyer below for save-the-date information about CHS course selection information night on Thursday, February 15th, at 6:00 PM in the CHS Auditorium.

The Environmental Awareness Club collected 150 items to donate to local animal shelters. Thank you, CMS families, for your generosity and support!

In December, NJHS students continued to work on their small group community service project. We also celebrated the holiday season with team building activities. In January, we look forward to meeting Mrs. Lisa Brandinelli - Quanci. Mrs. B. Quanci will share details about her involvement and volunteer work with the USO of PA & NJ.

In December, the STOP club volunteered at Winterfest by helping make ornaments and crafts in Santa’s workshop.

Last month, Unity Club donated over 200 snack packs to the Ronald McDonald House of South Jersey, and hosted a holiday breakfast for senior citizens residing in Cinnaminson. Unity Club members greeted guests, served breakfast and coffee, and raffled off door prizes throughout the event. Unity Club was joined by CSS, Jazz Band, and the Dance Club to provide entertainment while everyone ate breakfast. This month, Unity Club will make PB&J sandwiches to donate to soup kitchens in the area.

On January 4th, the CMS Counseling Department and the Cinnamentors hosted a winter breakfast for new students. The students had the opportunity to reflect on the start to their new school year and enjoyed some ice breaker activities to learn more about their peers and our school. New students also had the opportunity to provide feedback to the Counseling Department to continue to offer support and a sense of belonging here at CMS for our newest Pirates.

Cinnaminson Township Public Schools are closed on Monday, January 15th, in observance of Martin Luther King, Jr. Day. Throughout January and February, CMS, alongside of our other schools in the district, will be participating in a month of service. Various student clubs and organizations will be engaging in service learning opportunities to benefit our local communities. Additional details to follow on these upcoming events!
