THANK YOU to everyone who participated in PJ Day! The students and staff at Gayman Elementary said YAY in a big way and raised $768.05 for patients and familes at Children's Hospital of Philadelphia (CHOP.) Together, we are making a difference in the lives of children!

EARLY PICK UP OR AFTER SCHOOL APPOINTMENTS
If you would like to pick up your son/daughter early for an appointment, please pick up your child before 2:45PM. After 2:45PM, your child will be asked to wait with the other walkers, bus and car riders in his/her classroom, to ensure a safe and efficient dismissal for everyone.

VOLUNTEERING INFORMATION
To volunteer at a class party or chaperone a field trip, your clearances must be up-to-date.
If your clearances are current, upload them into the App Garden - Volunteer Tracker. If your clearances have expired, or you need to begin the clearance process, click on the Required Documents for the directions. For more information, consult the Human Resources Volunteer Required Paperwork webpage.
PROPER FOOTWEAR FOR PE & RECESS
During physical activity, it is important that students wear proper footwear. Loose fitting shoes (i.e. crocs, moccasins, slippers, etc.) create safety challenges during recess and physical education class. For example, during kick ball at recess, crocs have flown off and we have had a few toe injuries during PE.
If your child has physical education class, or would like to play an active recess game, please ensure that they are wearing sneakers. Thank you!
2-HOUR DELAY FOR SNOW
Going into the winter season...
If there is inclement weather in our forecast, then there may be a 2-hour delay. Should that occur, please plan for the following schedule.
- Grades 1-6: 10:35AM - 3:15PM
- AM Kindergarten: 10:35AM - 12:20PM
- PM Kindergarten: 1:30PM-3:15PM
LABEL, LABEL, LABEL
As the weather continues to get colder and more of our students are wearing jackets and other outside winter gear, please consider labeling your child's belongings with his/her name. Our "Lost and Found" area next to the gym is adding sweatshirts, jackets, gloves, and hats every day.
If your child is missing any items, please ask their teacher to allow him/her to make a quick visit to our "Lost and Found".
All items currently in the Lost & Found will be on display in the main hallway during parent/teacher conferences. Please feel free to stop at the tables and look for any items your children are missing.
Report cards are now available for families to view in the Parent Portal. Please be aware that teachers will not report on all of the report card descriptors in the first trimester. The descriptors they do not report on will be gray or they will be left blank. This is not a mistake. Students have either not yet had formal instruction on all the skills they will learn this year, or information on that indicator is incorporated into another indicator.
We are looking forward to speaking with you further about your child's progress at your conference time!
FIRST TRIMESTER PARENT/TEACHER CONFERENCES
If you have selected a conference after school on the 14th or 15th, please enter Gayman Elementary School under the Gayman Elementary School sign, to the right of our front doors. The exterior doors will be open. If you have selected a conference for any other time, then you must enter and sign in at our Main Office.
FREE & REDUCED LUNCH APPLICATION
Families can access the online application for Free & Reduced Meals by clicking here. The application must be submitted each year AND for each child. If your child received free or reduced lunch last year, you must re-apply for the 23-24 school year.
KINDNESS COUNTS CLUB: DECEMBER
In the spirit of the holiday season, December's KCC event will focus on giving. On Wednesday, December 13th from 3:30 to
4:30 in the library, students will begin a collection drive for a local organization that supports children in need, as well as create DIY dog and cat toys for the SPCA.

TEACHER & STAFF LUNCHEON - DECEMBER 14TH
Home and School is hosting a luncheon for the Teachers & Staff to kick off conference week. Thank you to everyone who signed up to contribute to the luncheon. Those items can be dropped off to the office the morning of 12/14.
COOKIES, CANDY, & COCOA FOR TEACHERS & STAFF - NEW DATE: DECEMBER 20TH
We want our Teachers & Staff to enjoy some Cookies, Candy, and Cocoa leading up to the Holiday break! We ask that all cookies, bars, and candy be dropped off to the main office on 12/20 by 9am. Click here to donate Cookies or Candy!
BINGO - SAVE THE DATES!
Gayman Family Bingo Nights - Thursday, January 11th and Friday, January 12th!
One of our favorite family events is back and there are some great prizes to win! There will be SIX games of Bingo, Prizes, and Snacks.
The sign-up will go out on Wednesday, December 20th at 3pm
Date: January 11th OR January 12th (choose ONE night to attend)
Time: 6pm -8pm
