Contests
The premise of this year's challenge is simple: design and build a device that can pick up a ping pong ball at a distance and return it to the starting line. The device has to be built using only the specified materials, but there are lots of design approaches students can take to solve the challenge.
Submissions will be accepted until March 19, 2023, but all the resources you need are available for students to start planning, designing, building, and testing their Ping Pong Pickup tools now!

The 3M Young Scientist Challenge invites students to share their solutions for a chance to win $25,000 and an exclusive 3M Mentorship.
To enter, students need to make a 1-2 minute video describing an original idea for using science to help solve an everyday problem. Focusing on a topic they care about, students put creative thinking and STEM brainstorming into action. What problem do they want to solve?
Challenge entries accepted through April 27, 2023. See the 3M Young Scientist Lab website for complete rules and regulations.
