Week at Windsor 10.20.19
Looking back and ahead at Windsor news and happenings...
Dear Windsor Families,
This was a beautiful fall weekend. We hope you and your family were able to enjoy it! Here is our Week at Windsor.
Parent-Teacher Conferences
Students only have three days of school this week. There is no student attendance on Thursday 10.24.19 and Friday 10.25.19. We are looking forward to seeing many of you here at Windsor, though, for parent-teacher conferences. Here are some reminders.
- This is our Parent-Teacher Conferences letter with all teacher sign-up links. The links close tomorrow, Monday, October 21st at 8:00 AM.
- If you are unable to make an in person time on our two conference days, you may sign up for a phone conference or email teachers to schedule a phone conference during their regular school days/hours of 8:15 AM to 3:45 PM.
- We really rely on parents to be on time (even early) these days so teachers can maintain their schedules. Likewise, teachers will also serve as time keepers, as they have many block-to-block conference slots and they want to help all parents make their different conference and other appointments.
Lost and Found
We have a blue cabinet labeled in our main commons area which serves as Windsor's Lost and Found. We will set out tables with all lost and found items during the two conference days for families to visit for anything that has gone missing during these first two months of school.
Halloween Planning
We emailed this letter to all families. Tomorrow, Monday 10/21, we will email a Halloween lunch dismissal form to help us know if your child will be going home for lunch on Halloween along with other key details around participating in the school parade, parties, etc.
Warmest regards,
Piper Boston, Principal
Lindsay Anastacio, Assistant Principal

Math Centers
If you check out this week's Windsor Twitter page, you will see lots of students engaged in math centers as part of their math time. You will also see highlights from reading and writing across all grades and classes. We continue to try and capture moments from the day to help all know the learning that is happening here at Windsor!
Coffee and Conversation with the Principal
During these opening days/months of school, I have prioritized getting to know staff, students, and the in's and out's of Windsor Elementary School. I haven't even begun to know everyone or everything...YET! Still, I have enjoyed the journey and continue to feel so fortunate to work each day with this fantastic team of educators and your amazing children.
At Curriculum Night, I shared a desire to set up a series of Principal Coffees and Conversation dates/times with parents/guardians. These first meetings are meant to help interested parents get to know me better and to help me get to know/hear from all of you. Below are three offerings for the month of November. Please only RSVP for one, as they will all be similar in format, and I would like to keep sizes conducive to conversation.
- Tuesday 11.5.19 Coffee #1 at 2:45 PM
- Thursday 11.14.19 Coffee #2 at 6:30 PM
- Tuesday 11.19.19 Coffee #3 at 9:15 AM

Halloween at Windsor
We would like to invite families to our school-wide Halloween Parade on Thursday, October 31st beginning at approximately 1:40 PM. (Morning Kindergarten will have their parade in the morning with their families.)
Students can stay at school or go home during an extended lunch period this day from approximately 12:10-1:20 PM in order to dress for the afternoon.
We want Halloween to be fun for all of those celebrating and ask that costumes are school appropriate. Please select costumes that avoid pretend sharp objects, weapons, blood, gore, mature content, etc.
