Our District has created the SCS Responsible Restart Comprehensive Guide - one document in one location outlining our District’s policies and procedures. This document should be used as a guide, allowing you to quickly find answers to your questions. The guide can also be found at www.strongnet.org/restart.

As we have seen throughout the pandemic, factors can change on a daily basis and this Guide will remain adjustable and flexible to respond to state and local health guidelines.

Two Strongsville High School students have had their artwork selected to be included in a virtual art gallery. Jayanna Evans and Alicia He are among the several student artists represented in the annual Black History Month art exhibit at the Cuyahoga County Common Pleas Court. An informational meeting for parents of incoming kindergarten students (2021-22 school year) was recently held. If you missed the meeting and want to view the presentation, please click HERE.

Mrs. Christine Pasko and Mrs. Jennifer Tedeschi are a fourth grade teaching team at Muraski Elementary. With a combined 47 years of service in our District (Mrs. Pasko - 27 / Mrs. Tedeschi - 20), these two Muraski teachers have been a part of many elementary students’ positive experiences in our District. Both are Strongsville residents and currently have children attending Strongsville City Schools. Mrs. Tedeschi is also an alumni of SHS. She went to Surrarrer Elementary, Center Jr. High and graduated from Strongsville High School.

“Mrs. Tedeschi and I have a great teaching partnership that has grown strong throughout our eleven years together. The best part about working with our students is their resilience to learn. This year in particular because they have had to learn remotely and in person which is a challenge and transition for all. They are doing their best to make the adjustments to be successful learners. It is exciting to work with our students every day and experience their creative ideas, their enthusiasm, their curiosity, and their love for learning. I encourage all students to make mistakes because mistakes make their brains grow,” said Mrs. Pasko.

“I live for that “aha moment” when my students first understand a new concept or see how the lesson applies directly to them. It’s so exciting to see my students grow in confidence as their successes build on one another. Helping students discover their strengths and then develop those strengths into regular habits is extremely rewarding. Mrs. Pasko and I have worked together for the past eleven years. We have a strong friendship and work really well together to give our students the best 4th grade experience. I am so lucky to have the opportunity to work with such amazing teachers, families, and students,” said Mrs. Tedeschi

The annual “State of the Schools” presentation by SCS Superintendent, Dr. Cameron Ryba, is scheduled for Wednesday, March 3 at 6:30pm and will be livestreamed on our District website (www.strongnet.org). We encourage our community to tune in for a review of the student and teacher accomplishments from this past year and the exciting path for the future of our District.

Thanks to the USDA and Federal Meal Program, breakfast and lunch will continue to be provided at no cost to students through the end of the 2020-21 school year (5/28/21), or until available funding runs out. Check out Strongsville Council PTA’s online fundraiser, which includes granola, coffee, popcorn, and MORE! Girls Basketball: Defeated Wooster in Sectional Final, 61-29 last night. The Lady Mustangs were led in scoring by Mackenzie Schulz who scored 12 points. Regan Bass added 10 points, while Taylor Bass and Ava Kadras both contributed 9 points. Next game - Tuesday, 2/23 in a District Semi-Final matchup with Berea-Midpark at 7:00pm.

Gymnastics: FInished second at last Sunday’s Sectional Meet, with a season-record score of 140.65. The team advances to the District Meet at Mentor on Saturday, 2/27. Congratulations to team members: Julia Spicer and Camryn Larissey (Seniors) / Amelia Sage, Brooke Zellers and Kelsey Kappel (Juniors) / Sophia Rinas, Emma Hahn and Ava Ketterer (Freshman)

Boys & Girls Swimming: Strongsville has 22 District Swimming Qualifiers - the most of any team in the Northwest District! Congratulations to Camille Merimee, Emmy Paul, Jordyn Miller, Jillian Rymer, Cayla Locigno, Ryley Mayberry, Abbey Kutchel, Kerry Gavigan, Jordyn Homoki, Grace Telesz, Alex Sachelarie, Conlan Mayberry, Ethan Holka, Andrew Arslanian, Gabe Griffiths, Colin Peters, Kyle Canonico, Gibson Painter, Nick Begany, Noah Bruening, Jaden Zaleski, and Luka Parojcic as they head to their next postseason meet!

With the abundance of emails that we all receive on a daily basis, and some being directed to spam or becoming buried in other folders in your email account, it sometimes leaves you without knowing an email was sent. One way to address this issue is to send a text that alerts an email has been sent. Although our texting option is not new for the district, families must opt in to receive our texts. The Junior Browns Spring Flag Football League

The Cleveland Browns, in association with the Strongsville Football Backers, are bringing the Junior Browns Spring Flag Football League to Strongsville! The league is open to girls and boys in grades K-6, with competitive play at each grade level. Practices will be held once per week, with games on Sundays beginning in April. The Strongsville Branch Library Audio studio is currently closed until further notice, but our Video studio is open to those that have already done an orientation. Cuyahoga County Public Library offers computer classes for beginners to advanced. Classes are currently being held VIRTUALLY using the program Screenleap which requires a web browser and an internet connection. There is no additional software to download. Google Chrome is the recommended browser. A valid email address is required for registration. Registrants will receive an email with a link to join the class at least an hour before the start time.
