SHARK SHOUTOUTS
- Huge Shark Shout Out to Amanda Schuermann for putting together our annual Monomoy Youth Voices exhibit and open mic. The art is absolutely wonderful and meaningful, and I thank her for welcoming into the exhibit the poetry and prose from our students. -Ms. Lisa Forte-Doyle
Many thanks to Emily Celia, Jade Kennedy, Kristina Tamasco, and Via Ferrer for sharing their writing (and singing) with us at the MYV exhibit. It's not easy to get up in front of so many students and recite or perform. Thank you! -Ms. Lisa Forte-Doyle
A huge shout out to Amanda Schuermann for her efforts on MYV. It was awesome to see and hear the works of all the talented students at Monomoy. Thank you for helping the students feel comfortable in expressing themselves. Well done. -Ms. Mimi

JANUARY Scholar Athletes
Melissa Velasquez - Girls Basketball
Melissa is the ultimate competitor and leader. She leads the team in scoring, rebounds, and assists however its what doesn't show up in the stat sheet that makes her a great student athlete. Melissa is an excellent captain ,and more important a mentor for our younger players. Her hard work dedication, and willingness to work with anyone has created a disciplined hardworking atmosphere in our program. Melissa exemplifies everything you look for in a student athlete on the court, in the classroom with a 4.49 GPA, and most importantly in her community. (Coach Brian Tomasini)
Casey Huse - Boys Ice Hockey
Casey Huse has become a standout player on the Monarchs for all the right reasons. His work ethic, focus, and desire to improve makes him one of our best all around players. As a freshman he has become one of our leading points getters and earned his spot on the first line. In addition his positive attitude and ability to relate to all his peers has made him a young leader on the team. He sets an example both on the ice and in the classroom. It has been a pleasure to coach Casey and I am excited to see him grow as a young man and hockey player. (Coach Chris Peterson)
Weekly Athletic Summaries
The boys had a good week. Coming out on top against CCT 49-36 , a good team effort. Later in the week they played Sandwich and ended with a loss of 48-76 but worked hard throughout the whole game.
